1 Electronic zone controller for pressure regulation FUNCTION KZM is an electronic zone controller for pressure regulation and flow measurement. KZM is equipped with LONTALK communications and is included in the e.r.i.c. system. KZM features digitally adjustable set point values. KZM is also used as a regulator on mixing boxes in the erimix system. Pressure class A and damper (circular variants) in class 4 air tightness for shutting off. 2 DESIGN KZM is available as standard in a circular design for sizes 1-0. A rectangular model is built onto a flap damper and can be provided on most markets in sizes up to 0 mm x 1 mm. The circular model is also available in an insulated design to fit silencer CLA/CLB, see figure 1. Circular sizes have a shutoff damper for class 4 air tightness, rectangular in class 3 air tightness, enclosure class conforming to IP. KZM is supplied as standard completely assembled and configured for the requested pressure together with the slave controlled air flow. KZM is supplied with an temperature sensor when used in an erimix system. Figure 1. KZM insulated design and sound attenuator CLA/ CLB. MATERIALS AND SURFACE TREATMENT All sheet metal parts are in galvanized sheet steel. All plastic parts are completely PVC free and are generally made of ABSplastic. ACCESSORIES Operator panel KOP for setting/adjusting data. Mounting bracket FSR to aid dismantling when cleaning the duct system. INSTALLATION KZM can be installed in any position in climate-conditioned areas. The pressure sensor position should be arranged so that its diaphragm is always in the vertical position when installed horizontally; this is easily done by loosening the pressure sensor s securing screws and changing the position, see figure 4. KZM is connected to the duct system using the mounting sleeve FSR on ducts that must be cleaned. KZM should always be installed with straight sections, see figure 7. Electrical connection is carried out as per the wiring diagram KZM. When used in system erimix the temperatur probe must be placed 4 m after KZM. COMMISSIONING KZM is usually set at the factory and no trimming is necessary. Reprogramming can be done using the operator panel KOP or via the LON network with the help of LONMAKER for Windows or similar programme. MAINTENANCE Dirty products may be cleaned by wiping or vacuum cleaning only. DECLARATIONS The product is CE marked. 4 PLANNING A comprehensive planning guide that describes the overall e.r.i.c. concept is given in the technical section. KZM (1) is a zone controller for pressure control of branch ducts (2) with flow measurement for slave control. The air flow, which is transferred digitally via LONTALK to KSA (3) for slave control, can be offset in % or by a fixed value,. There is also a possibility to transfer the slave flow analogically with 0- V voltage, only applies to products with regulators in the KCPb version and that the products are the same size. Any flow variations are programmed on the slave regulator with analogue transfer. The minimum air flow, which should be measured and transferred to the slave units, should be taken into consideration when selecting, see the technical data for the air flow capacity. KZM is used as the master unit and regulator for mixing boxes in the erimix, system, more information is available in the separate erimix product sheet. KZM is supplied with preset values, which can be easily changed on site by using the operator panel KOP or via the LON network. 5 CONNECTION KZM is connected to a 24 V AC power supply with max 6 A. All other connections to LONTALK and other equipment are as set out in the wiring diagram. Wire cross-section requirements Supply voltage (24 V AC) with max fuse 6 A requires 1.5 mm 2. Signal wiring from connected units max m requires 0.7 mm 2. The normal working velocity range lies between m/s in the duct.
