arxiv: v1 [math.nt] 5 Mar 2019 A note on Gersten s conjecture for ae cohomoogy over two-dimensiona henseian reguar oca rings Makoto Sakagaito Department of Mathematica Sciences IISER Mohai, Knowedge city, Sector 81, SAS Nagar, Manaui P.O , India E-mai address: makoto@iisermohai.ac.in Abstract We show the Gersten s conjecture for ae cohomoogy over two dimensiona henseian reguar oca rings without assuming equi-characteristic. As appication, we obtain the oca-goba principe for Gaois cohomoogy over mixed characteristic two-dimensiona henseian oca rings. 1 Introduction L R be an equi-characteristic reguar oca ring, kr the fied of fractions of R, a positive integer which is prime to charr and µ the ae sheaf of -th roots of unity. Then the sequence of ae cohomoogy groups 0 R,µ H n+1 p Spec R htp=1 p Spec R htp=2 kr,µ H ń H n 1 κp,µ 1 κp,µ 2 1 is exact by Boch-Ogus [2] and Panin [10]. Here κp is the residue fied of p SpecR. By using the exactness of the compex 1 at the first two terms, Harbater- Hartmann-Krashen[7] and Hu[8] proved the oca-goba principe as foows. L K be a fied of one of the foowing types: a semi-goba case The function fied of a connected reguar projective curve over the fied of fractions of a henseian exceent discre vauation ring A. 1
b oca case The function fied of a two-dimensiona henseian exceent norma oca domain A. Then the foowing question is raised by Coiot-Théène [3]: L n 1 be an integer and a positive integer which is prime to chara. Is the natura map K,µ Kv,µ 2 v Ω K injective? Here Ω K is the s of normaized discre vauations on K and K v is corresponding henseization of K for each v Ω K. Suppose that A is equi-characteristic. Harbater-Hartmann-Krashen [7, Theorem 3.3.6] proved that the oca-goba map 2 is injective in the semigoba case. Later, Hu [8, p.13, Theorem 2.5] proved that the oca-goba map 2 is injective in both the semi-goba case and the oca case by an aternative mhod. If the sequence 1 is exact at the first two terms in the case where R is a mixed characteristic two-dimensiona exceent henseian oca ring, then the oca-goba map 2 is injective even without assuming equi-characteristic cf. [7, Remark 3.3.7] and [8, p.16, Remark 2.6 2]. In the case where R is a oca ring of a smooth agebra over a mixed characteristic discre vauation ring, the sequence 1 is exact cf.[6, Theorem 1.2 and Theorem 3.2 b]. In this paper, we show the foowing resut: Theorem 1.1. Theorem 2.1 L R be a mixed characteristic two-dimensiona exceent henseian oca ring and a positive integer which is prime to charr. Then the Gersten s conjecture for ae cohomoogy with µ coefficients hods over SpecR, that is, the sequence 1 is exact. Hence we obtain the foowing resut as an appication of Theorem 1.1 : Theorem 1.2. With notations as above, assume that A is mixed characteristic and is a positive integer which is prime to chara. In both the semi-goba case and the oca case, the oca-goba principe for the Gaois cohomoogy group K,µ hods for n 1, that is, the oca-goba map 2 is injective for n 1. V.Suresh aso proved Theorem 1.2 by an aternative mhod cf.[8, p.4, Remark in Theorem 1.2]. Notations For a scheme X, X i is the s of points of codimension i, kx is the ring of rationa functions on X and κp is the residue fied of p X. If X = SpecR, 2
kspecr is abbreviated as kr. The symbo µ denotes the ae sheaf of -th roots of unity. 2 Proof of the main resut In this section, we prove the main resut Theorem 1.1. Proposition 2.1. L R be a henseian reguar oca ring, m the maxima idea of R and K the function fied of R. L be a positive integer such that / m. Then the homomorphism is injective. H SpecR,µ H SpecK,µ Proof. We prove the statement by induction on dimr. L R be a discre vauation ring which does not need to be henseian. Then the homomorphism 3 is injective by [4, Theorem B.2.1]. Assume that the statement is true for a henseian reguar oca ring of dimension d. L R be a henseian reguar oca ring of dimension d+1, a m\m 2 and p = a. Then R/p is a henseian reguar oca ring of dimension d and kr/p = R p /pr p 3 where kr/p is the function fied of R/p. Therefore the diagram H SpecR,µ H SpecRp,µ H SpecR/p,µ H SpeckR/p,µ 4 is commutative. Then the eft vertica map in the diagram4 is an isomorphism by [1, p.93, Theorem 4.9] and the bottom horizonta map in the diagram 4 is injective by the induction hypothesis. Hence the homomorphism H SpecR,µ H SpecRp,µ is injective. Moreover the homomorphism H SpecRp,µ H SpecK,µ is injective by [4, Theorem B.2.1]. Therefore the statement foows. Proposition 2.2. cf.[11, Proposition 4.7] L R be a reguar oca ring and a positive integer which is prime to charr. Suppose that dimr = 2. 3
Then the sequence is exact. H R,µ H kr,µ H i 1 κp,µ 1 p SpecR 1 Proof. L A be a Dedekind ring, q a maxima idea of A. Then H i+2 q SpecA,µ = H κq,µ 1 by the absoute purity theorem [5]. Hence the sequence H A,µ H U,µ q Z 1 H i 1 κq,µ 1 is exact where Z is a cosed subscheme of SpecA and U = SpecR\Z. Since im U H U,µ = H ka,µ by [9, pp.88 89, III, Lemma 1.16], the sequence HA,µ H ka,µ H i 1 κq,µ 1 5 q SpecA 1 is exact. L g be a reguar eement of R, p = g and Z = SpecR/p. Then we have H i+2 Z SpecR,µ = H R/p,µ 1 by the absoute purity theorem [5]. We consider the commutative diagram where H R,µ H R g,µ H i 1 Ker R/p,µ 1 H R g,µ H i 1 kr/p,µ 1 6 =Ker R g,µ kr g,µ Hκq,µ ń 1. q SpecR g 1 Then the rows in the diagram 6 are exact. Moreover the midde map in the diagram 6 is surjective by 5 and the right map in the diagram 6 is injective by [4, Theorem B.2.1]. Therefore the statement foows from the snake emma. 4
Coroary 2.1. L R be the henseization of a reguar oca ring which is essentiay of finite type over a mixed characteristic discre vauation ring. Suppose that dimr = 2. Then Zar R,Z/n = 0 for a positive integer which is prime to charr. Proof. L g R be a reguar eement and p = g. Then the homomorphism R,µ R g,µ is injective by Proposition 2.1. Hence the homomorphism H ń R g,µ H n 1 R/p,µ 1 is surjective. Therefore the homomorphism H n Zar R g,z/n H n 1 Zar R/p,Z/n 1 is surjective by [6, p.774, Theorem 1.2] and the homomorphism Zar R,Z/n Hn+1 Zar R g,z/n is injective by the ocaization theorem [6, p.779, Theorem 3.2]. We consider the commutative diagram Zar R g,z/n R g,z/n Zar kr g,z/n kr g,z/n. Then the upper map in the commutative diagram7 is injective by the Beiinson- Lichenbaum conjecture [6, p.774, Theorem 1.2] and the right map in the commutative diagram 7 is injective by the commutative diagram 6 in the proof of Proposition 2.2. Hence the homomorphism is injective and the homomorphism Zar R g,z/n Zar kr g,z/n Zar R,Z/n Hn+1 Zar kr g,z/n 7 is aso injective. Since we have This compes the proof. Zar kr g,z/n = 0, Zar R,Z/n = 0. 5
Remark 2.1. IfRisaocaringofasmoothagebraoveradiscrevauation ring, then H i Zar R,Z/mn = 0 for i > n and any positive integer m cf.[6, p.786, Coroary 4.4]. Theorem 2.1. L R be a henseian reguar oca ring with dimr = 2 and a positive integer which is prime to charr. Then the sequence 0 H is exact. R,µ H kr,µ H i 1 p SpecR 1 H i 2 p SpecR 2 κp,µ 1 κp,µ Proof. The exactness of the compex 8 at the first two terms foows from Proposition 2.1 and Proposition 2.2. We consider the coniveau spectra sequence E p,q 1 = H p+q x x SpecR p cf.[4, 1]. Then we have a fitration such that SpecR,µ H p+q 0 E p+q p+q Ep+q 1 E p+q 0 = E p+q, E p+q p /E p+q p+1 Ep,q. By the absoute purity theorem [5], it suffices to show that By Proposition 2.1, the morphism E 1,i 1 2 = E 2,i 2 2 = 0. E i E 0,i R,µ = E p+q is injective and Hence we have Since for p 3, we have E 1,i 1 E i 1 = E i 2 = 0. = E 2,i 2 = 0. E p,i p+1 r = 0 E 1,i 1 2 = E 1,i 1 = 0. 6
By the exactness of the compex 8 at the second term, we have and Therefore This compes the proof. References E 0,i 1 2 = E 0,i 1 = E i 1 Im E 0,i 1 2 E 2,i 2 2 = 0. E 2,i 2 2 = E 2,i 2 3 = E 2,i 2 = 0. [1] M.Artin, Grothendieck Topoogies, Dept. of Mathematics, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, [2] S.Boch; A.Ogus, Gersten s conjecture and the homoogy of schemes.
