NO LATE ENTRIES ACCEPTED Due to space limitations, we do require prior entries. If you are not sure how blooms will travel we suggest you put your entries in the Mixed Classes as these can be filled using any species or hybrids. Award winning blooms may be taken from Multiple Blooms or Single Bloom Classes Exhibitors may put any number of entries in any class in the Show. Number must be specified when lodging entries. Ferny Creek Horticultural Society members are welcome to exhibit in all classes. Exhibits may be staged between 4 pm. 7 pm. Friday, or 7 am am Saturday. JUDGING WILL COMMENCE AT 11AM SHARP. Page 2

They are perpetual trophies to be held by the recipients for twelve months. 8 DEFINITION OF CAMELLIA CLASSIFICATIONS (TYPES) CAMELLIA : Unless otherwise stated, Camellia means Camellia Japonica. VARIEGATED FORMS OF A CULTIVAR are to be exhibited with the unvariegated form unless listed separately. CLASSIFICATION (TYPES) : Some Camellia cultivars vary in flower form. In all cases the FORM OF EACH INDIVIDUAL FLOWER DETERMINES ITS ENTRY CLASS. FORM CLASSIFICATIONS SINGLE : A flower having a maximum of 8 petals in a single row, with an uninterrupted cluster of stamens. Example : Spencer's Pink SEMI-DOUBLE : A flower having either of two forms as follows: (a) Two or more rows of petals, with an uninterrupted cluster of stamens. (b) Irregular Semi-Double, with one or more petaloids interrupting the cluster of stamens. Example : The Czar FORMAL DOUBLE : A flower having many rows of regular, overlapping petals and no visible stamens, the petals being arranged in one of four different ways, ie. fully imbricated, tiered, spiral or bud centred. Example : Nuccio's Gem ELEGANS FORM : A flower having one or more outer rows of large petals, while the stamens have become almost totally petaloid and form a convex mass in the centre. Examples : Elegans Splendor, Brushfield's Yellow INFORMAL DOUBLE : A flower having any number of petals and petaloids. Stamens may or may not be visible. Flowers may range from loosely arranged petals divided by stamens (examples: Easter Morn, China Doll) to a full double with a mass of petals and petaloids with no stamens showing (examples: Debutante, Margaret Davis) MINIATURE : The diameter of the bloom NOT TO EXCEED 70MM. MUST NOT be immature specimens of a naturally larger cultivar. Examples : Tinsie, Fircone. SMALL : The diameter of the bloom must be MORE THAN 70MM. BUT NOT EXCEEDING 90 MM. MUST NOT be immature specimens of a naturally larger cultivar. Examples : Little Red Riding Hood, Usu-Otome. HYBRID : Any Camellia that is generally accepted as a cross, including two or more species of Camellia. Examples: Hybrids With Other Than Reticulata Parentage : Debbie, Water Lily Reticulata Hybrids : Dr. Clifford Parks, Lasca Beauty
