With respect to Mendel s peas, green peas and axial flower position are the wildtypes. By examining your data from Experiments 1 and 2: a. Which allele is dominate (expressed)? b. Which allele is the wild type? c. Do mutations always cause an expressed gene (dominant) to become unexpressed (recessive)? Support your reason with data. Experiment 3 1. Do the genes for pea color and flower position exhibit Independent Assortment? How do you know this? 2. By doing a Chi Square analysis on the F 2 data, can you confirm that these plants are a Mendelian F 2 Generation showing Independent Assortment? Show your work
