1 SOALAN 1 Rajah S1 menunjukkan satu sistem gear pengecilan tiga peringkat yang digunakan untuk meghantar kuasa dari satu punca kuasa ke gegendang yang bergarispusat 1 m. Sistem ini dipacu oleh satu punca kuasa yang berkeupayaan menghasilkan dayakilas maksimum 500 Nm pada kelajuan 500 ppm dan dapat memecut dengan pecutan maksimum 10 rad/s. Kirakan:- (iii) (iv) Halaju sudut dan pecutan sudut di gegendang. Kuasa yang diperlukan untuk mengatasi dayakilas geseran di bering. Kuasa yang diperlukan untuk memberikan pecutan kepada sistem gear. Beban yang dapat ditarik naik oleh gegendang melalui satu takal dengan pecutan maksimum. 2 SOALAN Sebuah enjin 6 silinder masing masing mempunyai jisim gerak salingan 1. kg, panjang lejang silinder 10 mm, panjang rod penyambung 180 mm dan bekerja pada kelajuan 000 ppm. Kaji keseimbangan enjin tersebut jika ia dijadikan sebuah enjin segarisan 4 lejang dengan aturan nyala dan jarak antara satah silinder adalah sama iaitu 0. m. Berikan magnitud dan arah sebarang daya atau momen yang tidak imbang. Kaji keseimbangan enjin tersebut jika ia dijadikan sebuah enjin jejarian atau radial dengan sudut paksi lejang adalah sama dan aturan silinder ialah ikut arah pusingan jam. Berikan magnitud dan arah sebarang daya atau momen yang tidak imbang.
3 SOALAN 3 Sebuah motor eletrik yang berkeupayaan menghasilkan dayakilas malar 50 Nm bekerja pada kelajuan 300 ppm digunakan untuk memacu sebuah mesin penebuk. Perubahan dayakilas semasa proses penebukkan adalah diberikan oleh Rajah S3. Berpandukan pada rajah tersebut, dapatkan perkara perkara berikut:- (iii) Bilangan penebukan yang dihasilkan dalam masa satu jam. Perubahan maksimum tenaga dalam satu kitar. Jika jumlah momen inersia bagi motor, mesin penebuk dan roda tenaga ialah 10 kgm, dapatkan halaju maksimum dan minimum dalam satu kitar. T (Nm) saat t (saat) Rajah S3 3
4 SOALAN 4 Rotor turbin sebuah kapal berjisim 000 kg dan berputar pada kelajuan 3000 ppm ikut arah pusingan jam jika diperhatikan dari arah belakang kapal. Diketahui bahawa jejari kisar bagi rotor tersebut ialah 0.5 m. Dapatkan momen giroskopik dan kesannya terhadap kapal apabila kapal tersebut mengemudi ke arah kanan dengan jejari kelengkungan 100 m pada kelajuan 16.1 knots (1 knot = 1855 m/hr). Kirakan juga momen giroskopik dan kesannya apabila kapal menganggul (pitching) dengan gerakan ombak dianggapkan sebagai Gerakan Harmonik Mudah, dan bebusur kapal (bow) menjunam kebawah pada halaju maksimum. Diketahui bahawa sela masa ketika kapal menganggul ialah 50 saat dan jumlah anjakan sudut ketika menganggul di antara kedudukan tertinggi dan terendah ialah 1 o. Tentukan juga pecutan maksimum ketika tersebut kapal tersebut menganggul. 4
5 SOALAN 5 Rajah S5 menunjukkan satu sistem yang mengandungi rasuk, ceper dan blok yang disokong oleh spring dan juga peredam. Sebuah blok, M A yang digantung dengan kabel tak anjal diikat pada rasuk dan melalui satu ceper ditarik ke bawah dan kemudian dilepaskan. Didapati sistem tersebut akan berayun bebas dan daripada ujikaji diketahui amplitud getaran selepas satu ayunan lengkap adalah 1/50 daripada asal. Kirakan:- nilai pekali redaman, C, masa pekalaan, T bagi ayunan yang terjadi. 6 SOALAN 6 Rajah S6 menunjukkan sebuah pelantar berjisim 100 kg diletakkan di atas sebuah penyokong yang menyebabkan ianya mengalami anjakan statik sebanyak 4 mm. Jika pekali redaman penyokong adalah 000 Ns/m kirakan:- (a) (b) (c) Frekuensi tabii sistem. Pekali pemalar pegas pada penyokong. Nisbah redaman pada penyokong. 8 QUESTION 3 A punching press is driven by a constant torque electric motor with produce a torque of 50 Nm at 300 rpm. The variation with time of the torque required on the driving shaft of a machine during one cycle of operation is as shown in Figure S3. Determine the following:- (iii) The maximum number of pressings that can be made in one hour. The maximum fluctuation of energy during the cycle. If the total moment inertia is 10 kgm, what is the maximum and minimum speed during the cycle. QUESTION 4 The turbine rotor of a ship has a mass of 000 kg, a radius gyration of 0.5 m and rotates at 3000 rpm in a clockwise direction when viewed from stern. Determine the gyroscopic couple and its effect upon ship when the ship is steering to the right on a curve of 100 m at a speed of 16.1 knots (1 knot =1855 m/hr). Calculate also the gyroscopic couple and its effect when the ship is pitching in a simple harmonic motion, the bow falling with its maximum velocity. The period of pitching is 50 seconds and the total angular displacement between the two extreme positions is 1 degrees. What is the maximum acceleration during this condition. 8
9 QUESTION 5 Figure S5 shows a system which consist of rod, disk and block A pivoted at 01 and supported by two springs with stiffnesses of K 1 =x10 3 N/m and K =1x10 3 N/m and two dash-pots. The system is then given a small oscillation and released. It is found that the reduction amplitude is 1/50 of one complete oscillation. Determine the following:- Damping values, C Period motion of the system for one complete oscillation, T. QUESTION 6 Figure S6 shows a platform of mass 100 kg supported by a spring and fixed with a dash-pot, which causes a vertical static deflection of 4 mm. If the coefficient of damping is 000 Ns/m, calculate; (a) natural frequency of the system, (b) the stiffness coefficient of the spring, and (c) damping ratio of the supports.
