As y o u know, I was most unhappy when the Party let the "Forward" go and y o u may remember that I made a strong effort to k e e p an interest. Unfortunately, it was impossible to come to terms w i t h Mr, Shulsky, so nothing came of it. I now feel that if we want to reawaken interest in the Labour movement in South Africa, we should keep our views before the public. The "Forward" has been associated w i t h the Labour Party for so long that It would be a great advantage If we could revive it as an organ of Socialist thought.
