2 Message from Jamie Collingridge We start the year with a good selection of what might be called 'traditional English' clocks. In the King Street sale, the bell top clocks by Turner and Cabrier are in many respects quintessential English table clocks, while the Blake longcase is a classic 'London pagoda'. James Tregent is particularly, and rightly, renowned for his enamel dials and we include a very good example of his work. It is difficult to describe the size -- it is not standard but not small either.we settled on midsized, but whatever term one uses the clock is very pleasing aesthetically. It is one of those clocks that is definitely worth viewing if you get the chance as one can appreciate it much better in the flesh. Another clock that deserves having time spent on it is the William Clement longcase. If you come to view bring along your thinking cap to see if you can solve the conundrums it presents (we have had a go in our cataloguing and footnote). If you cannot view in person then, as always I will be glad to send you comprehensive images.and don't forget, if you are unable to visit during our regular viewing times we will be glad to accommodate you as best we can and arrange a private viewing of the clocks we have. In New York I very much like the Queen Anne wall-mounted pocket watch holder; a perfect way of displaying your favourite watch and a lovely little piece of furniture in its own right. Not a clock but something I feel clock collectors will appreciate.
