LIFTING FRAME FOR TRANSPORT IN ATLAS A.Korporaal, C.Snippe PRODUCTION VERSION Abtract The purpoe of the mechanical calculation i to invetigate tre and afety factor in the lifting frame ued to tranport the R.P.C. and M.D.T. chamber together into the ATLAS pit at CERN. Thee lifting frame have to comply with the CERN SAFETY CODE D1 (Rev.) The numerical analyi wa done by the I-DEAS Finite Element Analyi oftware. June 005 Page 1 of 1

2 ATLAS-MDT/RPC-ASSEMBLY LIFTING FRAME (CERN) AMP-AQ-0 SUMMARY: A one of the experiment, intergrated in de Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN near Geneva, the ATLAS-detector will be operational in 006. The detector i aembled with everal ub-experiment with characteritic unique ubdetector. The Reitive Plate Counter (R.P.C.) and Monitored Dr)ift Tube muonchamber (M.D.T.) become a a et tranported together into the ATLAS-pit. For the outer (96) R.P.C./M.D.T, it i planned to do thi operation with a lifting device Thi lifting device have to be according CERN afety code a noted in EDMS Rev.
