1 arxiv: v1 [math.sp] 14 Feb 213 ON THE LIPSCHITZ STABILITY OF INVERSE NODAL PROBLEM FOR DIRAC EQUATION Emrah YILMAZ ad Hikmet KEMALOGLU Firat Uiversity, Departmet of Mathematics, 23119, Elazıg / TURKEY emrah231983@gmail.com hkoyubaka@gmail.com Abstract: Iverse odal problem o Dirac operator is fidig the parameters i the boudary coditios, the umber m ad the potetial fuctio V i the Dirac equatios by usig a set of odal poits of a compoet of two compoet vector eigefuctios as the give spectral data. I this study, we solve a stability problem usig odal set of vector eigefuctios ad show that space of all V fuctios is homeomorphic to the partitio set of all space of asymptotically equivalet odal sequeces iduced by a equivalece relatio. Furthermore, we give a recostructio formula for the potetial fuctio as a limit of a sequece of fuctios ad associated odal data of oe compoet of vector eigefuctios. Our method depeds o the explicit asymptotic expressios of the odal poits ad odal legths ad basically, this method is similar to [1] ad [2] which is give for Sturm-Liouville ad Hill operators, respectively. MSC 2 : 34A55, 34L5, 34L2. Key Words: Dirac Equatio, Iverse Nodal Problem, Lipschitz Stability. 1. Itroductio Iverse spectral problems have bee a importat research issue i mathematical physics. Usig spectral data, differet methods have bee proposed for recoverig coefficiet fuctios i differetial equatios [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], [9], [1]. Normally, the spectral data cotais the eigevalues ad a secod set of data. I 1988, McLaughli show that kowledge of the odal poits ca determie the potetial fuctio of the Sturm-Liouville problem up to a costat [11]. This is so called iverse odal problem. Numerical schemes were the give by Hald ad McLaughli [12] for recostructio of the desity fuctio of a vibratig strig, the elastic modulus of a vibratig rod, the potetial fuctio i the Sturm-Liouville problem ad the impedace i impedace equatio. Idepedetly, She ad his coworkers studied the relatio betwee the odal poits ad desity fuctio of strig equatio [13]. Iverse odal problems have bee studied by may authors [14], [15]. The Dirac equatio is a moder presetatio of the relativistic quatum mechaics of electros iteded to make ew mathematical results accesible to a wider audiece. It treats i some depth relativistic ivariace of a quatum theory, self-adjoitess ad spectral theory, qualitative features of relativistic boud ad scatterig states ad the exteral field problem i quatum electrodyamics, without eglectig the iterpretatioal difficulties ad limitatios of the theory [16]. Iverse problems for Dirac system had bee ivestigated by Moses [17], Prats ad Toll [18], Verde [19], Gasymov ad Levita [2], ad Paakhov [21]. It is well kow that two spectra uiquely determie the matrix valued potetial fuctio [22]. I [23], eigefuctio expasios for oe dimesioal Dirac operators describig the motio of a particle i quatum mechaics are
2 ivestigated. I additio, iverse spectral problems for weighted Dirac systems are cosidered i [24]. For the Dirac system with a spectral parameter i the boudary coditios, oe studied the properties of the eigevalues ad vector-valued eigefuctios for the Dirac system with the same spectral parameter i the equatios ad the boudary coditios [25]. The samplig theory of sigal aalysis associated with Dirac systems whe the eigevalue parameter appears liearly i the boudary coditios was ivestigated [26]. Oe ivestigated a problem for the Dirac differetial operators i the case where a eigeparameter ot oly appears i the differetial equatio but is also liearly cotaied i a boudary coditio, ad proved uiqueess theorems for the iverse spectral problem with kow collectio of eigevalues ad ormalizig costats or two spectra [27]. Iverse odal problems for Dirac systems had ot bee studied util the works of Yag, Huag [28]. They give recostructio formulas for oe dimesioal Dirac operator by odal datas. Later years, some problems were solved for iverse odal problem of Dirac systems [16], [29]. The orgaizatio of this paper is as follows: i sectio 1, we give some properties of Dirac system ad quote some importat results to use i mai theorem. I sectio 2, we obtai some recostructio formulas for potetial fuctio. Fially, we defie d, d ΣDir, Lipschitz stability ad we show d ΣDir is a pseudometric o Σ Dir. The, we prove Theorem 3.1 i sectio 3. Cosider the followig Dirac system By x+qxyx = λyx, x π, 1.1 with the boudary coditios λcosα+a y 1 +λsiα+b y 2 =, λcosβ +a 1 y 1 π+λsiβ +b 1 y 2 π =, 1.2 where B = 1 1, Qx = Vx+m Vx m, yx = y 1 x y 2 x, 1.3 ad V is a real valued, cotiuous fuctio from the class L 1 [,π]. m,a k,b k k =,1,α ad β are real costats: moreover π 2 α π 2 ad π 2 β π 2 [29]. The properties of the eigevalues ad eigefuctios of the boudary value problem 1.1 were studied i [25]. Throughout their paper, Yag ad Pivovarchik assume that a siα b cosα >, a 1 siβ b 1 cosβ <. 1.4 Uder this coditio, the eigevalues of the boudary value problem are real ad algebraically simple [29].
3 Cosiderig 1.3 i 1.1, we get 1 y 1 x Vx+m 1 y 2 x + Vx m y 1 x y 2 x = λ y 1 x y 2 x, ad thus, equatio 1.1 is equivalet to a system of two simultaeous first order differetial equatios y 2 x,λ+[vx+m]y 1x,λ λy 1 x,λ =, y 1 x,λ+[vx m]y 2x,λ λy 2 x,λ =. 1.5 I geerally, potetial fuctio of Dirac equatio 1.1 has the followig form p 11 x p 12 x Qx =, p 21 x p 22 x where p ik x i,k = 1,2 are real fuctios which are defied ad cotiuous o the iterval [,π]. For the case i which p 12 x = p 21 x = ad p 11 x = Vx+m, p 22 x = Vx m where m is the mass of the particle, the system 1.5 is kow i relativistic quatum theory as a statioary oe dimesioal Dirac system or first caoical form of Dirac system [4]. We willuseolyoecompoety 1 x,λ of thetwocompoet vector eigefuctios yx,λ = [y 1 x,λ,y 2 x,λ ] T. yx,λ be the eigefuctio correspodig to the eigevalue λ of Dirac system Suppose aretheodalpoitsofthecompoety 1 x,λ oftheeigefuctio yx,λ. I other words, y 1,λ =. It is poited out that the odal poits are repeated i accordace with the multiplicity of zeros. Let I j,1 =,x, ad deote the odal legth by l j,1 = x. We also defie the[ fuctio j ]x to be the largest idex j such that x. Thus, j = j x if ad oly if x,x for >. Deote X = { }. X is called the set of odal poits for the compoet y 1 x,λ of the eigefuctio yx,λ of the Dirac system. Now, we will give some results which is give i [29] to use i mai results. Lemma 1.1. It is well kow that the spectrum of the problem 1.1 with the boudary coditios 1.1 cosists of the eigevalues λ, Z which are all real ad simple, ad the sequece {λ, Z} satisfies the classical asymptotic form [28] λ = + v π + c 1 1 +O 2, 1.11 where v = β α+ π Vxdx,c 1 = msi2α si2β+m2 π. π 2πcos 2 Vxdx α+β 1 3
6 Let ux,λ = u 1 x,λ,u 2 x,λ T be the solutio of the 1.1 with the iitial coditios u 1,λ = siα,u 2,λ = cosα The by the methods of successive approximatios method [4], there hold x u 1 x,λ = si λx Vxdx+α U λ +O e τλ x, x x u 2 x,λ = cos λx Vxdx+α V λ +O e τλ x λ for large λ, where [28] Ux,λ = msi λx Vxdx cosα+ m2 2 xcos λx Vxdx+α, Vx,λ = msi λx Vxdx siα+ m2 2 xsi λx x λ 2 Vxdx+α Lemma 1.4. [28]For suffucietly large,the i th compoet u i x,λ of the eigefuctio ux,λ of the problem 1.1,1.12 has exactly +1 i odes i the iterval,π. Moreover, the asymptotic formulas for odal poits of first ad secod compoets of the eigefuctio ux,λ as uiformly with respect to j Z are as followig ad = jπ + 1 j,1 Vxdx α + 1j msi2α λ λ λ 2λ 2 + 1jm2 2λ 2 1 +O λ 3, 1.15 j 1 2 π = + 1 λ x j,2 λ x j,2 Vxdx α λ + 1j+1 msi2α 2λ 2 + 1j m 2 x j,2 2λ 2 1 +O λ The asymptotic expasios of odal legths l j,1 are the followig for the problem 1.1,1.12 by usig 1.15 l j,1 = π + 1 λ λ Vxdx+ { 1j+1 1 j }msi2α 2λ 2 I case of j = 2kor j = 2k +1,k Z; we obtai l j,1 = π + 1 Vxdx± msi2α λ λ 2λ 2 + { 1j+1 x 1 j 2λ 2 }m 2 1 +O λ 3. ± m2 {x } 1 2λ 2 +O λ

It is well kow s lim Vtdt = Vx ad π s lim π cos2s tvtdt = for almost every x,π whe is sufficietly large [3]. If we use the fact we get lim s πλ = 1, s lim Vtdt = lim π λ = lim λ Vtdt. lim s πλ Vtdt = Vx, ad s lim cos2s tvtdt = lim π λ = lim λ cos2λ πtvtdt lim cos2λ πtvtdt =. s πλ
8 The above equalities are still valid eve if ad x are replaced by X j,1 ad X. 2. Recostructio of Potetial fuctio by usig odal poits I this sectio, we will derive some recostructio formulas of potetial fuctios for the problems 1.1,1.7 ad 1.1, Here ad later, we deote L k the grid legths to go with X k i the same way that l k the odal legths to go with x k [1]. by Theorem 2.1. Let V L 1 [,π] be the potetial fuctio for Dirac system 1.1. Defie F a For the problem , F = 2 { 1 ] } [ 2 m2 L 2 2 k π. b For the problem , F = { 1 ] } [± m2 L 2 k ± m2 X k π. The, F coverges to V poitwisely almost everywhere ad also i L 1 sese. Furthermore, poitwise covergece holds for all the cotiuity poits of V. Proof: a We will cosider the recostructio formula for the potetial fuctios for the problem Observe that, by Lemma 1.3, we have ad λ π lj,1 1 m2 l j,1 2λ π = 1 π 1 Vxdx+O λ 2, [ ] λ l λ j,1 m2 1 π = λ Vxdx+O. 2λ λ The, by usig asymptotic expasios for eigevalues below, we obtai [ ] [ ] λ l λ [ ] j,1 m2 1 1 π = 2+O l j,1 m 2 2+O 2λ 2 2+O 1 π [ ][ ] 1 = 2+O l 2 j,1 m O π [ ] = 2 l 2 j,1 m2 π +o Hece, to prove Theorem 2.1 a, it suffices to show Theorem 2.2.

By Theorem 1.1., if we take limit both sides of 2.1 as for almost x,π, we get [ ] Vx = lim λ m 2 lj,1 π 2λ l j,1 λ. Theorem 2.3. The potetial fuctio V L 1,π of the problem 1.1,1.12 satisfies [ ] Vx = lim l j,1 λ ±m 2xj,1 +x π λ ±msi2α, 2λ for almost every x,π, with j = j x. Proof: It ca be proved by similar process to Theorem Mai Results about Lipschitz Stability I this sectio, we solve a Lipschitz stability problem for Dirac operator. Lipschitz stability is about a cotiuity betwee two metric spaces. So, we have to first recostruct to metric spaces. To show this cotiuity, we will use a homeomorphism betwee these spaces. Stability problems were studied by may authors [2], [31], [32]. We will give a mai theorem which execute that the iverse odal problem for Dirac equatio is stable with Lipschitz stability. We deote thespaceω Dir as acollectio of all Dirac operators adthespace Σ Dir as acollectio of all admissible double sequeces of odes such that correspodig fuctios are coverget i L 1. A pseudometric d ΣDir o Σ Dir will be defied. Essetialy, d ΣDir is so close to d = lim [ 2 π m2 2 2 ] 1 L k L k,

Let Σ Dir1 Σ Dir be the subspace of all asymptotically equivalet odal sequeces ad let Σ Dir 1 = Σ Dir1 /. Let Φ be a homeomorphism the maps Ω Dir oto Σ Dir 1. We will call Φ a odal map. i Defiitio 3.1. Let N = N {1}. We deote Ω Dir = {V L 1,π : Vx is the potetial fuctio of the Dirac equatio}, Σ Dir = The collectio of the all double sequeces defied as for each N. We say X is quasiodal to some V L 1,π if X is a admissible sequece of odes ad satisfies I ad II below: I X has the followig asymptotics uiformly for k, as X k = kπ 2 +O 1,k = 1,2,..., for the problem 1.1,1.7. Ad the sequece of the fuctios { 1 ] } F = 2 [ 2 m2 L 2 2 k π, coverges to V i L 1. II For the problem 1.1,1.12, X has the followig asymptotics uiformly for k, as Ad the sequece of the fuctios coverges to V i L 1. F = X k = kπ +O 1 { 1 Lemma 3.1. The other case is similar. By the asymptotic estimates χ,k = X k X k = X k kπ 2 + kπ 2 X k X k kπ 2 + kπ 2 X k 1 1 = O +O 1 = O. c Fix x,π. Let J = J x ad J = J x. Sice XJ x XJ+1 Jπ 1 2 +O X J x X J+1 Jπ 2 +O = X J x X J +1π J+1 = +O 2 1 = X x X J J+1 = Jπ 2 +O 1, 1, whe is large eough, J +1 J ad J +1 J. Hece, 1 J J 1, the J J 1. Let Defiitio 3.2. Suppose that Σ Dir with L k ad L k as their respective grid legths. S = π [ 2 m2 2 2 ] 1 L k L k. 3.1
12 Defie d = lim S S ad dσdir = lim. 1+S We obtai this metric by evaluatig V V 1 i Theorem 3.1. This defiitio was first made by [1]. Sice the fuctio fx = x is mootoic, we have 1+x d d ΣDir = [,π], 1+d admittig that if d =, the dσdir = 1. Coversely d = d ΣDir 1 d ΣDir. We ca easily proof this equality by usig Law s method [1], [2]. Lemma 3.2. Let Σ Dir. a d ΣDir is a pseudometric o Σ Dir. b If X ad X belog to differet cases, the d ΣDir = 1. Proof: It ca be proved similar way with [1]. After followig therem, we ca say that the iverse odal problem for the Dirac operator is Lipschitz stable. Theorem 3.1. The metric spaces Ω Dir,. 1 ad Σ Dir 1 /,d ΣDir are homeomorphic to each other. Here is the equivalece relatio iduced by d ΣDir. Furthermore where d ΣDir < 1. V V 1 = d Σ Dir, 1 d ΣDir Proof: I view of Lemma 3.2. we oly eed to cosider whe Σ Dir belog to same case. Without loss of geerality, let belog to case I. I this case, we shall show that V V 1 = d. Accordig to the Theorem 2.1., F ad F covergece to V ad V, respectively. V V 1 π [ 2 m2 2 2 V V 1 π [ 2 m2 2 2 If we cosider 3.3 ad 3.4 together, we obtai ] 1 o 3 ] [ π 2 ] 1 dx L k L ] 1 k +o 2, L k L k +o ] 1 V V 1 = π [ 2 m2 2 2 The proof is complete after takig the limit as. 3. Coclusio L k L k +o ] 1 L k L k. I this study, it was give a Lipschtiz stability of iverse odal problem for Dirac operator by usig zeros of oe compoet of two compoet vector eigefuctios. Especially, two metric spaces was defied ad it was show that these two metric spaces were homeomorphic to each other. These results are ew ad ca be geeralized.
