2 General Information 1. The official language is English. 2. The WORKshop fee is VAT. Invoices will be sent immediately after registration acceptance. They are due within 30 days. The fee includes the participation at the WORKshop, a book of abstracts, coffee breaks, lunch, the Monday evening get-together and an optional airport shuttle on Tuesday afternoon. 3. The fee will be waived for all participants with an accepted paper. 4. Slots for regular presentations are 15 minutes in total, i.e. 12 minutes presentation and 3 minutes for discussion. Slots for short presentations are 5 min in total, i.e. 4 minutes for presentation and 1 minute for discussion. Time limits will be handled very strictly. 5. The WORKshop is limited to a total number of 80 attendees including advisory board and organizers. All participants with an accepted paper do automatically receive registration acceptance. 6. Bowling and Bavarian buffet is scheduled for the Monday evening get-together. There will be vegan food as well. 7. The WORKshop dress code is informal. 3 Announcement and Call for Papers On behalf of the advisory board and the organizers, we invite you to participate and submit a paper proposal for our 5 th International WORKshop on Infrared Technologies. The 5 th WORKshop will be held from November 12 13, 2018, at LASER COMPONENTS headquarters in Olching, near Munich. The overall concept remains unchanged. Once again, we are targeting for a think tank event that covers the whole field of infrared. Sophisticated theories and latest record breaking results will be covered, as well as practical and commercial aspects. Once again, there will be short talks and lots of time for networking. We are targeting for a good mixture between industry and academic researchers, with nearly 50% of the 80 attendees typically present a regular (12 min) or short paper (4 min). In 2017, a US-version of the IR WORKshop was launched successfully. As a result, the decision has been made not just to keep this annual rhythm of alternating places, but really try to connect the US and the European communities much closer. Thus, more US colleagues have joined the advisory board. The electronica 2018 trade show will take in place in Munich from November 13 16, 2018, in case you want to combine your travel plans.
