1 ALLENs in the USCensus for certain North Carolina counties, [1] I have abstracted below all the households headed by people surnamed ALLEN (in all spellings) in the USCensus for the North Carolina counties of Anson, Iredell, Montgomery, Rowan, and Rutherford, for the years , and Anson, Lincoln, Montgomery, and Rutherford Cos for For 1850 I have abstracted all the households headed by ALLENs in these counties who were born before 1800, and also in Stanly County (created in 1841 from Anson). I ve also abstracted all the ALLENs of JohnstonCo from , and the older half of those for 1850, as well as those in Franklin, Wake, and Warren from For 1850 I have abstracted all the Allens in Anson, Cleveland, Iredell, and Stanly Counties. Certain other households of possible in-laws or friends have been included as well, and this report may be added to from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the date stamp in the lower right corner of each page. Many of the county census lists have been alphabetized by first letter of surname, destroying evidence of propinquity, and where this is the case, I have indicated as much in parentheses next to the county header. However, in most cases the county lists were batched together (without sorting) from a number of individual enumerator s lists which were themselves alphabetized, and for such lists, where different clusters of ALLENs are separated by more than one census page, it can be presumed that they fell into different districts. * 1790 USCensus * (the head of family, who may be female, is included in the F:All totals) 1790 USCensus FreeWhite Other M:16+ M:<16 F:All Free Slave TOTAL NORTH CAROLINA, ANSON County John Allen AnsoNC-----: NORTH CAROLINA, FRANKLIN County (list is alpha by First Letter of Surname) Besides ALLENs, I ve abstracted ALFORDs.
