1 Towards nature of the X(387) resonane * N.N. Ahasov 1;1) E.V. Rogozina 1 Laboratory of Theoretial Physis, Sobolev Institute for Mathematis, 639, Novosibirsk, Russian Federation Novosibirsk State University, 639, Novosibirsk, Russian Federation arxiv: v1 [hep-ph] 5 Ot 15 Abstrat: We onstrut spetra of deays of the resonane X(387) with good analytial and unitary properties whih allows to define the branhing ratio of the X(387) D D +.. deay studying only one more deay, for example, the X(387) π + π J/ψ(1S) deay, and show that our spetra are effetive means of seletion of models for the resonane X(387). Then we disuss the senario where the X(387) resonane is the = χ 1(P) harmonium whih sits on the D D threshold. We explain the shift of the mass of the X(387) resonane with respet to the predition of a potential model for the mass of the χ 1(P) harmonium by the ontribution of the virtual D D+.. intermediate states into the self energy of the X(387) resonane. This allows us to estimate the oupling onstant of the X(787) resonane with the D D hannel, the branhing ratio of the X(387) D D +.. deay, and the branhing ratio of the X(387) deay into all non-d D +.. states. We predit a signifiant number of unknown deays of X(387) via two gluons: X(387) gluon gluon hadrons. Key words: Charmonium, moleule, two-gluon deays PACS: Lb, Pg, 11.8.Et, 1.39.Fe 1 Introdution The X(387) resonane beame the first in disovery of the resonant strutures XY Z (X(387), Y(46), Z + b (161), Z + b (165), Z + (39)), the interpretations of whih as hadron states assumes existene in them at least pair of heavy and pair of light quarks in this or that form. Thousands of artiles on this subjet already were publishedin spiteofthefat thatmanypropertiesofnew resonant strutures are not defined yet and not all possible mehanisms of dynami generation of these strutures are studied, in partiular, the role of the anomalous Landau thresholds is not studied. Anyway, this spetrosopy took the entral plae in physis of hadrons. Below we give reasons that X(387), I G (J PC ) = + (1 ++ ), is the χ 1 (P) harmonium and suggestaphysially lear program of experimental researhes for verifiation of our assumption. How to learn the branhing ratio X(387) D D +.. [1] The mass spetrum π + π J/ψ(1S) looks as the ideal Breit-WigneroneintheX(387) π + π J/ψ(1S)deay, see Fig. 1 (a). The dotted line is seond-order polynomial for the inoherent bakground. (b) Our undressed theoretial line. The mass spetrum π + π π J/ψ(1S) in the X(387) π + π π J/ψ(1S) deay looks in a similar way [3, 4]. The mass spetrum D D +.. in the X(387) D D +.. deay [5] looks as the typial resonane threshold enhanement, see Fig (a) Fig.. The Belle data [5] on the invariant D D +.. mass (m) distribution. The solid line is our theoretial one with taking into aount the Belle energy resolution. The dotted line is a square root funtion for the inoherent bakground. (a) D D π. (b) D D γ. (b) If strutures in the above hannels are manifestation of the same resonane, it is possible to define the branhing ratio BR(X(387) D D +..) treating data of the two above deay hannels only. We believe that the X(387) is the axial vetor, 1 ++ [6, 7]. In this ase the S wave dominates in the X(387) D D +.. deay and hene is desribed by the effetive Lagrangian L XD D (x)=g AX (D µ (x) D µ (x)+ D ) µ (x)d (x). (1) The width of the X D D +.. deay ( ) Γ(X D D +..,m)= g A ρ(m) 1+ k, () 8π m 3m D PhiPsi15-
3 where k is momenta of D (or D ) in the D D enter mass system, m is the invariant mass of the D D pair, ρ(m)= k m = (m m +)(m m ), m m ± =m D ±m D. The seond term in the right side of Eq. () is very small in our energy region and an be negleted. This gives us the opportunity to onstrut the mass spetra for the X(387) deays with the good analytial and unitary properties as in the salar meson ase [8, 9]. The mass spetrum in the D D +.. hannel dbr(x D D +..,m) dm =4 1 π m Γ(X D D,m) D X (m). The branhing ratio of X(387) D D +.. BR(X D D +..)=4 1 m Γ(X D D,m) dm. π m + D X (m) (4) In others {i} (non-d D ) hannels the X(387) state is seen as a narrow resonane that is why we write the mass spetrum in the i hannel in the form dbr(x i,m) dm = 1 π (3) m X Γ i D X (m), (5) where Γ i is the width of the X(387) i deay. The branhing ratio of X(387) i BR(X i)= 1 π m Γ X i m D X (m) dm, (6) where m is the threshold of the i hannel. (11) Our branhing ratios satisfy the unitarity 1=BR(X D D +..)+BR(X D + D +..)+ i BR(X i). (1) Fitting the Belle data [], we take into aount the Belle results []: m X = MeV=m D +m D =m + and Γ X(387) < 1. MeV 9%CL, that orresponds to Γ < 1. MeV, whih ontrols the width of the X(387) signal in the π + π J/ψ(1S) hannel and in every non- (D D +..) hannel. The results of our fit are in the Table 1. Table 1. 4 are onsiderable or dominant. For example, in Ref. [1] the authors onsidered m X = MeV, Γ=1. MeV and g XDD =g A =.5 GeV, that is, g A /8π =.1 GeV. In this ase BR(X D D +..)., that is, unknown deays X(387) into non-(d D +..) states are dominant. For details see Table. Table. Branhing ratios for the model from Ref. [1]. The two dramati disoveries have generated a stream of the D D +D D moleular interpretations of the X(387) resonane. The mass of the X(387) resonane is 5 MeV lower than preditions of the most luky naive potential models for the mass of the χ 1 (P) resonane, m X m χ1 (P)= 5MeV, (13) and the relation between the branhing ratios BR(X π + π π J/ψ(1S)) BR(X π + π J/ψ(1S)), (14) while =38nb. (16) But, aording to Ref. [7] BR(ψ(S) π + π J/ψ)=.34 (17).3<BR(X(387) π + π J/ψ)<.66 (18) aording to Ref. [13]. So,.74< σ(pp X(387)+anything) <.1. (19) σ(pp ψ(s)+anything) The extended moleule is produed in the hard proess as intensively as the ompat harmonium. It s a mirale. As for the problem of the mass shift, Eq. (13), the ontribution of the D D + and D D loops, see Fig. 3, into the self energy of the X(387) resonane, Π X (s), solves it easily. D that is interpreted as a strong violation of isotopi symmetry. But the bounding energy is small, ǫ B <(1 3) MeV. That is, the radius of the moleule is large, r X(387) > (3 5) fm =(3 5) 1 13 m. As for the harmonium, its radius is less one fermi, r χ1 (P).5 fm = m. That is, the moleule volume is 1 1 times as large as the harmonium volume, V X(387) /V χ1 (P) > 1 1. How to explain suffiiently abundant inlusive prodution of the rather extended moleule X(387) in a hard proess pp X(387)+anything with rapidity in therange,5-4,5andtransversemomentumintherange 5- GeV [1]? Really, σ(pp X(387)+anything)BR(X(387) π + π J/ψ) =5.4nb (15) where s<m +, Λ m +. X D Fig.3. Theontributionofthe D D andd D + loops into the self energy of the X(387) resonane. Let us alulate I D(s) D in Eq. (8) with help of a ut-off Λ. Λ D I D(s)= (s m +)(s m ) ds s (s s) m + ln Λ m m + + s artan s s m + s, () PhiPsi15-4
5 The inverse propagator of the X(387) resonane D X (s)=m χ 1 (P) s Π X(s) ım X Γ. (1) The renormalization of mass results in m χ 1 (P) m X Π X (m X)= () (m X + )=Π X (m X ) (g A /8π )4ln(Λ/m + ). (3) If = m χ1 (P) m X 5 MeV, then g A /8π. GeV for Λ=1 GeV and BR(X D D + D D ).3. Thus, we expet that a number of unknown mainly two-gluondeays of X(387)into non-d D +.. states are onsiderable. The disovery of these deays would be the strong (if not deisive) onfirmation of our senario. As for BR(X ωj/ψ) BR(X ρj/ψ), Eq. (14), this ould be a result of dynamis. In our senario the ωj/ψ state is produed via the three gluons, see Fig. 4. q q Close to our senario is an example of the J/ψ ρη and J/ψ ωη deays. Aording to Ref. [7] BR(J/ψ ρη )=(1.5±.18) 1 4 and BR(J/ψ ωη )=(1.8±.1) 1 4. (4) Note that in the X(387) ase the ω meson is produed on its tail (m X m J/ψ = 775 MeV), while the ρ meson is produed on a half. It is well known that the physis of harmonium ( ) and bottomonium (b b) is similar. Let us ompare the already known features of X(387) with the ones of Υ b1 (P). Reently, the LHCb Collaboration published a landmark result [14] BR(X γψ(s)) BR(X γj/ψ) =C X ( ωψ(s) ω J/ψ ) 3 =.46±.7, (5) where ω ψ(s) and ω J/ψ are the energies of the photons in the X γψ(s) and BR(X γj/ψ) deays, respetively. On the other hand, it is known [7] that BR(χ b1 (P) γυ(s)) BR(χ b1 (P) γυ(1s)) =C χ b1 (P) ( ) 3 ωυ(s) ω Υ(1S) =.16±.8, (6) Fig. 4. The three-gluon prodution of the ω and ρ mesons (the ρ meson via the ontribution m u m d ). All possible permutations of gluons are assumed. As for the ρj/ψ state, it is produed both via the one photon, see Fig. 5, and via the three gluons (via the ontribution m u m d ), see Fig. 4. ρ where ω Υ(S) and ω Υ(1S) are the energies of the photons in the χ b1 (P) γυ(s) and χ b1 (P) γυ(1s) deays, respetively. Consequently, and C X =136.78±38.89 (7) C χb1 (P)=8±1.37 (8) as all most luky versions of the potential model predit for the quarkonia C χ1 (P) 1 and C χb1 (P) 1. Aording to Ref. [7] BR(χ b1 (P) ωυ(1s))=(1.63±.4.34 )%. (9) If the one-photon mehanism dominates in the X(387) ρj/ψ deay, see Fig. 5, then one should expet Fig. 5. The one-photon prodution of the ρ meson. All possible permutations of photon are assumed. BR(χ b1 (P) ρυ(1s)) (e b /e ) 1.6% =(1/4) 1.6%=.4%, (3) The assumption of the determining role of the D D+.. hannels in the shift of the mass of the χ 1 (P) meson is based on the following reasoning. Let us imagine that D and D mesons are light, for example, as the K and K mesons. Then the width of X(387) meson is equal 5 MeV for g A /8π =.GeV that muh more than the width of its deay into all non-(d D +..) hannels, Γ<1. MeV. That is, in our ase the oupling of the X(387) meson with the D D+.. hannels is rather strong. Note that in the χ 1 (1P) ase the width of the two-gluon deays equals.56 MeV [7] that agrees with Γ<1. MeV satisfatory. PhiPsi15-5
6 where e and e b are the harges of the and b quarks, respetively. If the three-gluon mehanism (its part m u m d ) dominates in the X(387) ρj/ψ deay, see Fig. 4, then one should expet 4 Conlusion BR(χ b1 (P) ρυ(1s)) 1.6%. (31) We believe that disovery of a signifiant number of unknown deays of X(387) into non-d D +.. states via two gluons and disovery of the χ b1 (P) ρυ(1s) deay ould deide destiny of X(387). Onemore, wedisussthesenariowheretheχ 1 (P) harmonium sits on the D D threshold but not a mixing of the giant D D moleule and the ompat χ1 (P) harmonium, see, for example, Refs. [15, 16] and referenes ited therein. Note that the mixing of suh states requests the speial justifiation. That is, it is neessary to show that the transition of the giant moleule into the ompat harmonium is onsiderable at insignifiant overlapping of their wave funtions. Suh a transition V χ1 (P)/V X(387) and a branhing ratio of a deay via suh a transition V χ1 (P)/V X(387). 5 Aknowledgments Referenes 1 N. N. Ahasov and E. V.
