CONSTRUCTION OF TOEPLITZ MATRICES WHOSE ELEMENTS ARE THE COEFFICIENTS OF UNIVALENT FUNCTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH -DERIVATIVE OPERATOR arxiv: v1 [math.cv] 11 Aug 017 NANJUNDAN MAGESH 1, ŞAHSENE ALTINKAYA,, SIBEL YALÇIN Abstract. In this paper, we find the coefficient bounds using symmetric Toeplitz determinants for the functions belonging to the subclass R(). Keywords: Univalent functions, Toeplitz matrices, -derivative operator. Mathematics Subject Classification 010: 30C45, 05A30, 30C50, 33D Introduction, Definitions and Notations Let A indicate an analytic function family, which is normalized under the condition of f(0) = f (0) 1 = 0 in = {z : z C and z < 1} and given by the following Taylor-Maclaurin series: f(z) = z + a n z n. (1.1) Also let S be the subclass of A consisting functions of the form (1.1) which are also univalent in. Let f be given by (1.1). Then f RT if it satisfies the ineuality n= R(f (z)) > 0, z. The subclass R was studied systematically by MacGregor [5] who indeed referred to numerous earlier investigations involving functions whose derivative has a positive real part. In the field of Geometric Functions Theory, various subclasses of analytic functions have been studied from different viewpoints. The fractional -calculus is the important tools that are used to investigate subclasses of analytic functions. For example, the extension of the theory of univalent functions can be described by using the theory of -calculus. Moreover, the -calculus operators, such as fractional -integral and fractional -derivative operators, are used to construct several subclasses of analytic functions (see, e.g., [1, 7, 1]). In a recent paper Purohit and Raina [9], investigated applications of fractional - calculus operators to defined certain new classes of functions which are analytic in the open disk. Later, Mohammed and Darus [6] studied approximation and geometric properties of these -operators in some subclasses of analytic functions in compact disk. For the convenience, we provide some basic definitions and concept details of -calculus which are used in this paper. We suppose throughout the paper that 0 < < 1. We shall follow the notation and terminology as in []. We recall the definitions of fractional -calculus operators of complex valued function f(z). corresponding author. 1
TOEPLITZ MATRICES-WITH -DERIVATIVE OPERATOR Definition 1.1. Let (0,1) and define for n N. [n] = 1 n 1, Definition 1.. (see [4]) The -derivative of a function f, defined on a subset of C, is given by f(z) f(z) for z 0, (D f)(z) = (1 )z f (0) for z = 0. We note that lim 1 (D f)(z) = f (z) if f is differentiable at z. Additionally, in view of (1.1), we deduce that (D f)(z) = 1+ [n] a n z n 1. (1.) Toeplitz matrices freuently arise in many application areas and have been attracted much attention in recent years. They arise in pure mathematics: algebra, algebraic geometry, analysis, combinatorics, differential geometry, as well as in applied mathematics: approximation theory, compressive sensing, numerical integral euations, numerical integration, statistics, time series analysis, and among other areas (see, for example [13]). The symmetric Toeplitz determinant of f for n 1 and 1 is defined by Thomas and Halim [11], as follows: a n a n+1 a n+ 1 a T (n) = n+1 a n a n+.... (a 1 = 1). a n+ 1 a n+ a n and Note that n= T () = a a a a, T (3) = a 3 a 4 a 4 a 3, T 3 (1) = 1 a a 3 a 1 a a 3 a 1, T 3() = a a 3 a 4 a 3 a a 3 a 4 a 3 a Very recently, the estimates of the Toeplitz determinant T (n) for functions in RT have been studied in [10].. Preliminaries Let P be the class of functions with positive real part consisting of all analytic functions p : C satisfying p(0) = 1 and R(p(z)) > 0. The class P is called the class of Caratheodory function. The following results will be reuired for proving our results..
TOEPLITZ MATRICES-WITH -DERIVATIVE OPERATOR 3 Lemma.1. [8] If the function p P, then and p n (n N = {1,,...}) p p 1 p 1. Lemma.. [3] If the function p P, then p = p 1 +x(4 p 1 ) 4p 3 = p 3 1 +(4 p 1)p 1 x p 1 (4 p 1)x +(4 p 1)(1 x )z for some x, z with x 1 and z 1. Definition.3. Afunction f A issaid to bein theclass R(), if thefollowing condition holds R(D f)(z) > 0, z. We note that lim 1 R() = { } f A : lim 1 R(D f)(z) > 0, z = RT. The aim of this work is to obtain the coefficient bounds using symmetric Toeplitz determinants T (), T (3), T 3 () and T 3 (1) for the functions belonging to the subclass R(). 3. Main Results and Their Conseuences Theorem 3.1. Let f given by (1.1) be in the class R().Then T () 4 ( + +) ( ). Proof. Let f R(). Then there exists a function p P such that By euating the coefficients, we obtain and It follows from (3.), (3.3) and (3.4) that (D f)(z) = p(z). (3.1) a = p 1 [], (3.) a 3 = p [3], (3.3) a 4 = p 3 [4]. (3.4) T () = a 3 a p = [3] []. p 1
TOEPLITZ MATRICES-WITH -DERIVATIVE OPERATOR 4 Making use of Lemma. to express p in terms of p 1, we obtain a 3 a p 4 = 1 4[3] p 1 [] + xp 1 (4 p 1 ) [3] + x (4 p 1 ) 4[3] By Lemma.1, we have p 1. For convenience of notation, we take p 1 = p and we may assume without loss of generality that p [0, ]. Applying the triangle ineuality with P = (4 p ), we get a 3 a p 4 4[3] [] + x p P [3] p + x P 4[3]. =: F( x ). Differentiating F( x ), one can see clearly that F ( x ) > 0 on [0,1], and so F( x ) F(1). Hence p 4 F( x ) F(1) = 4[3] p [] + 1 ) (4 p4 [3]. 4 Treating the cases when the absolute term is either positive or negative, we can show that this expression F( x ) has a maximum value p p4 on [0,], when p =. [] 4[3] Theorem 3.. Let f given by (1.1) be in the class R().Then T (3) 16 ( )(1+ + ). Proof. Using (3.), (3.3), (3.4) and Lemma. to express p and p 3 in terms of p 1, we obtain, with P = (4 p ) and R = (1 x )z, {( ) ( ) a 4 a 3 = 1 p P 4 4[4] + P [4] pp [4] x 4 p P + [4] pp [4] x 3 ( ) p P + [4] P [4] + P [3] + p4 P [4] p3 P [4] + pp [4] x ( ) p 4 P + [4] + pp [4] + p P [3] x } + P [4] + p3 P p 6 [4] + 4[4] p4 [3] := G(p, x ). Differentiating and using a simple calculus shows that G(p, x ) 0 for x [0,1] and fixed x p [0,]. It follows that G(p, x ) is an increasing function of x. So G(p, x ) G(p,1). Upon letting x = 1, a simple algebraic manipulation yields a 4 a 4 3 (1+ + ).
TOEPLITZ MATRICES-WITH -DERIVATIVE OPERATOR 5 Theorem 3.3. Let f given by (1.1) be in the class R().Then T 3 () 16 ( )(1+ + ). Proof. Using the same techniues as in Theorem 6 and Theorem 7, we obtain p a a 4 p3 [] 4[4] + x pp + x (p )P + P. [4] 4[4] [4] It is easy exercise to show that a a 4 p [] p3 4[4] on [0,], when p =. Thus, a a (3.5) Using the same techniues as above, one can obtain with simple computations that a a 3 +a a 4 8 (1+ + ). (3.6) Finally, from (3.5) and (3.6) we obtain T 3 () = (a a 4 )(a a 3 +a a 4 ) 16 Theorem 3.4. Let f given by (1.1) be in the class R().Then 4 T 3 (1) 1+ (1++ ). ( )(1+ + ). Proof. Expanding the determinant by using (3.), (3.3), (3.4) and Lemma., we obtain ( ) 1+a (a 3 1) a 3 = 1+ p 1 p [] 1 p [3] [3] ( ) ( ) 1 = 1+ 1 p 4 [] [3] 4[3] 1 p p [] [] [3] 4[3] 1 xp x P. 4[3] As before, without loss in generality we can assume that p 1 = p, where p [0,]. Then, by using the triangle ineuality and the fact that x 1 we obtain ( ) ( 1 T 3 (1) 1+ p 4 p 1 + )p (4 p )+ (4 p ). [] [3] 1 4[3] [] [] [3] 1 4[3] It is now a simple exercise in elementary calculus to show that this expression has a maximum value when p =, which completes the proof. References [1] M. Aydoğan, Y.
