They will help you to reflect on the theme to be able to share a personal experience or awareness on this subject. Start with an experience and show the spiritual principle which it contains. At the end of this calendar, before the technical information, you will find a spiritual exercise which you can practice during this quarter. How to Hear the Divine in Everyday Life many of you understand how It (Holy Spirit) works. You know the silent and the not-quite-sosilent voice in which It speaks. And you re ever thankful that God has provided you with the gift of inner hearing and of second sight so you can hear and see Its message as it comes through in the Light and Sound. This year, the special guest speaker is Steve Mallett, RESA of the United Kingdom. Throughout the day, there is ample opportunity for informal conversation with other spiritual seekers. What is ECKANKAR? Eckankar is a spiritual path for the individual of this time. Each of us is Soul, connected to God through the Holy Spirit (the ECK), which can be heard as Sound and seen as Light. Eckankar means co-worker with God and offers you ways to discover your own unique relationship with the divine. In Eckankar, you will find people that share your desire for love, spiritual freedom and truth. 4

10 * Optional, outside the ECK day, on Saturday, August 25 th afternoon The parents which want to reserve those activities at the Youth Hostel on their responsibilities have these possibilities: For KAYAK: The rental of 1 kayak is 140 for a group of maximum 12 people (ie 140 are shared by the number of people who want to have a kayak.) There is one monitor per group. On Saturday, August 25 th from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m., guided canoes for per person. Children playground: 7 / child for 4 hours. There are good hotels in the city of Esch-sur-Sûre near Lultzhausen 10

11 ECK Spiritual Exercise Listening to the Mockingbird When you go to bed, listen in a gentle, calm way to the night sounds. Sometimes you'll hear the night birds, the hum of air conditioning, the traffic outside, a helicopter flying overhead, or the soft rumble of voices. Just lie in bed and listen. You hear these different sounds so often that you unconsciously erase them from your mind. Put some attention on them now. While you listen to these physical sounds, sing HU, and then listen for the sacred sounds of ECK. They come in many forms, sometimes as the ringing or tinkling of bells or the sound of musical instruments. Try to identify as many different physical sounds as you can. Go to sleep with these sounds in your consciousness, all the while knowing they are part of the HU, the universal Sound which embodies all others. Listen carefully, because in these sounds you will find the secret name of God.
