It will give us extra room in the moving truck. It will give us more space in the new house. It will also give us some money. 2 I feel a little sad as I set up my table. It is hard to get rid of my old toys. I remember playing with them. 3 I used to love these, I say, holding my old wooden blocks. I can t sell these. 4 You re too big for those now, says my mom. You don t use them anymore, Ana. 5 But I still like them, I reply. I hope no one buys them. 6 As people come to the sale, I start to feel better. Little boys and girls look happy. They hold my old toys like golden treasures. I show them how each toy works. A woman asks to buy all of my old books. She is a teacher and wants to share them with her class. That makes me feel wonderful. I remember how much I loved those books. Now others can enjoy them. 7 Are these for sale? asks a little boy. I would love to build with these blocks. 8 Yes, I reply. I think you will have fun with them. 9 I feel happy at the end of the sale. It is nice to see my old items go to good use. I was able to run my table all by myself. I made a little money too. Metamorphic [met-uh-mor-fik] rocks are made from igneous and sedimentary rocks. They get pressed or heated while buried under the earth. They turn into metamorphic rocks under the ground. Geologists Igneous rock Glossary lava hot liquid that comes from a volcano 3 Scientists who study rocks are called geologists [jee-ol-uh-jists]. They use tools to collect and study rocks. Igneous [ig-nee-uhs] rocks are created when hot earth liquids, such as magma, cool down. Sedimentary [sed-uh-men-tuh-ree] rocks are made when layers of the earth are pressed together over time. You Are a Geologist! 3 You have just become a geologist [jee-ol-uh-jist]. Geologists study rocks. They look at what is inside them. Rocks give geologists clues about the earth.
