Convened the 14 th National Conference on Surfactants, Emulsions and Biocolloids as Organizing Secretary in the Department of Chemistry, University of Kashmir, in collaboration with Indian Society for Surface Science and Technology, Kolkatta, during July 28 30, II. 3 special lectures, 18 invited lectures, 24 oral presentations and 64 poster presentations were made during the conference in which more than 80 scientists and scholars from outside the state participated. As Resource Person in the Orientation/Refresher courses and Curriculum Development programs organized by the State Institute of Education and J & K Board of School Education i) July 20,1999 to July 28, 1999, 8-day workshop on review of Chemistry Curriculum at +2 stage ii) January 2001 to February 2001, Orientation cum Refresher course on Improvement of Science Education in Schools organized by the Directorate of Continuing Education in collaboration with Directorate of School Education. iii) January 20 23, 2009, Orientation cum Refresher course on Improvement of Science Education in Schools organized by the SIE, Srinagar. III. Played a proactive role in academic and developmental activities of the department pertaining to the following: i) Review and upgradation of Chemistry Curriculum at the undergraduate and post graduate levels as member Board of U.G and P. G. studies. ii) Introduction of two new courses: (1) Chemists ( the courses are taught by me) 5 Computers for Chemists, (2) Mathematics for iii) Management and maintenance of Computer Lab and Internet facilities in the Department. iv) Projection of infrastructure requirements, especially laboratory Equipment, for funding by UGC/DST. a) Prepared the project application under FIST (Level I) for submission to DST, Govt. of India, that resulted in a grant of Rs Lakhs to the Department for Equipment, Computational Facilities and Infra Structure (2003). The released grant was fully utilized within the plan period resulting in a boost to research activities in the Department which qualified the Department for the Next level FIST. b) Assisted in the preparation and submission of application to DST, Govt. of India under FIST (level II) culminating in the sanction of Rs crores for equipment, infrastructure, computational facilities etc. IV. PDF /RA supervized : Administrative Experience : A) As coordinator J & K SET Was appointed as Coordinator J & K State Eligibility Test for Lecturership on As Member Secretary J & K SET Agency I carried out the important and sensitive job of Conduct of the J & K SET Conduct of the J & K SET-2016 The assignment involves supervising and coordinating the following activities: i) Organization of workshops of subject experts for getting two sets of question set for two papers each of the 36 SET subjects in addition to the common General Aptitude paper. ii) Preparation and publication of question booklets and OMR sheets for the test. iii) Online submission of application by the SET candidates issuing of Roll NOs and admit cards etc. through the University website. iv) Conduct of the test of about 20,000 candidates at various centers at Srinagar and Jammu and collection of examination material from these centers. v) Scanning of candidate response sheets (40,000) for assigning scores against the correct key options. vi) Preparation of results and getting them approved by the Authorized Committees followed by declaration using the KU website. vii) Making available the e-certificates for qualifying candidates for download from the KU website. viii) Preparation and issuance of actual printed certificates to the qualifying candidates B) As Head, Department of Chemistry, April 1, 2016 to October 31,2017.
