Sample answer: From the table, we can see that potassium ions are always very soluble, so we can assume that the potassium ion remains in solution regardless of what compound is added. Therefore, we can focus on separating the other three ions. Since the chloride ion forms a precipitate with silver ions but not the other two metal ions, we could first add a soluble chloride solution, such as sodium chloride, to the solution.
