1 Identify Isotopes with the ICS-4000 Gamma Ray Spectrometer! The Model ICS-4000 isotope identifier is an easy to use field-portable gamma ray spectrometer, suitable for a variety of field survey and analysis applications. A sensitive cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) detector, 4000 channel multichannel analyzer and powerful microprocessor are combined to allow sophisticated laboratory-grade analysis in the field. This instrument comes complete with a 160 isotope library with the capacity for additions as required. ICS-4000 Features: Multiple Modes of Operation - The ICS-4000 s dual modes of operation make it easy for both lay personnel and expert spectroscopists to identify isotopes and measure radiation field strength quickly and easily. Point and click operation in Normal mode detects and lists isotopes and field strength. Expert mode offers multiple user-defined regions of interest, display scaling, a built-in file management system and two megabytes of data storage, providing maximum flexibility. Lightweight, Easy to Use - The ICS-4000 weighs less than 2 lbs. It s large LCD screen is back-lit for easy reading in any light and displays menus, instructions, data and spectra on command. Seven large buttons on the front panel control all functions. The controls are easy to use with either hand, even with gloves. Designed to compliment the XP-4 submersible probe, the CP-1 collimator provides directionality to provide the ability to make surveys in high background radiation environments. The adjustable extension pole allows precise positioning of the probe from a distance of 2-6 meters. The walls of the collimator are 2 cm thick, fabricated from sintered tungsten and housed in a rugged cold drawn aluminum housing. A compression fitting seals the collimator from water and contamination simplifying decontamination of the assembly.
