TI is focused on increasing the quality and frequency of inquiry-based instruction. The key components of TI involve Research Experiences for Teachers (RET), curriculum and materials development and adaptation, action research, and cohort membership. Project responsibilities included qualitative and quantitative data collection from 28 science teachers from various schools in West Michigan; data organization and management; data analysis and research; presenting research findings in national meetings and conferences, developing manuscripts; and supervising undergraduate students for research.
