The major achievements are summarized here. 1. Developed toxic gas dispersion model with obstacles - first of its kind in the world. A customized model for offshore platforms in order to determine the H 2 S gas dispersion and work out mitigation methodology. 2. Obtained copyright for toxic gas dispersion model with obstacles (Registration Number: SW-3746/2008). 3. Developed failure frequency database first of its kind in India. Failure relates to leakages leading to loss of contaminant of hydrocarbons. Failure frequency is very important input in Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) and can significantly affect the outcome of QRA. 4. Estimated catalyst life studies of HFC 134a, the most ideal substitute of Freon. The main objective of this project is to study the life of catalyst for HFC-134a. 5. Bench scale studies on continuous process for sebacic acid. The main objective is to develop from batch to continuous process for the preparation of Sebacic Acid.

3 6. Constitutive modeling of the emergency release of vent sizing and size adequacy of the pressure relieving systems. 7. Developed expert system for selection of pressure relief valves (devices). 8. Developed database for material safety data sheets (MSDS) of various chemicals.
