D Research work: Title of the thesis: Studies on Lewis and Bronsted acids mediated organic syntheses and some drug precursors Synopsis of the work done during Ph. D period: During my Ph. D period, I developed some efficient and green methods for organic transformations and synthesized some biologically important compounds (Publication list). Supervisor: Dr. Dilip Konwar, Scientist-G Organic Chemistry Division NEIST, Jorhat, Assam, India. 2. Brief description of Postdoctoral Research Experience (September 2007-July 2010) Supervisor: Prof. Antonio Mourino Department of Organic Chemistry, University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain Synopsis of the work done during Postdoctoral period: I was engaged in design (docking in GOLD) and synthesis of Vitamin D 3 analogs in Professor Antonio Mourino s group (Department of Organic Chemistry, University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain). While working in Prof. Mourino s Laboratory, I successfully applied my research skills, and maintained the laboratory. During this research period, I have developed one new route to synthesize the natural hormone (1α, 25-OH) 2 -D 3 ) and its analogs, which has been published as a VIP paper in Chemistry-A European Journal, 2010, 16, and successfully synthesized some new Vitamin-D mimics. In addition, I was responsible for maintaining the laboratory and handling of potentially hazardous chemicals and equipments such as HPLC, MPLC, NMR etc.
