Session IV Accessibility of wave information for scientists, engineers, and managers. This section describes a range of topics from wave buoy telemetry devices (e.g. Iridium, WiFi, Bluetooth) and Automatic Identification System to ocean databases and National Data Centers. Participants describe how wave data are used to assess the skill of models and to create important statistics. The following paper and extended abstracts relate to data quality control and the increasing demand for reliable information on wave conditions, particularly at coastal sites, worldwide.
