Summary of Work and Conclusions The current program as of February 10 1997 consisted of 62 of over burden drilling to reach bedrock and 24 of chip sampling for a total depth of 66. The sampling was supervised by Brian Kostiuk and at the time of this report has not been processed. The bedrock consisted of pale green Creston formation that has been well weathered. Location and Access.// iii The property is located 20 kilometres northeast of Cranbrook, B.C. and straddles the Wildhorse River. Access is via Highway #95 to the Fort Steele-Bull River turn off then east 2.4 kilometres to the Mause Creek Road. Follow Mause Creek Road to Fisher Peak turn off then 1 kilometre to Boulder and Mause Creek junction then 500 metres northeast and 500 metres east.
CLAIl4 GROUP Twenty-two claims make up the block (Figure 2). They were located in 1991 by B. Kostiuk for himself, and subsequently transferred to Lone Peak Placer Ltd. Each claim has a 2 post location. They are all in the Ft. Steele Mining District. HISTORY Little is known of the early work on the property. Between 1961 and 1963 two geologists, Newmarch and Hughes, investigated the perched valley as a potential original Wildhorse drainage, and they did sufficient mapping and seismic profile work to confirm the possibility of the idea. A limited program of test pits and trenches showed the presence of fine placer gold but none of the coarse values as had been seen just upstream in historical workings. In 1988 Brian Kostiuk recognised the same possibility and re-staked the ground. As the overburden was obviously too deep to adequately test using a hand tool program, he drilled a test hole to bedrock. Results were sufficiently encouraging to prompt the drilling of six additional holes in 1990, and have the placer potential evaluated by Michael Henrick, a geologist with considerable local and national experience. In 1991 the mineral titles were staked. This accompanied a further 3 hole placer test program in overburden, one hole of which was drilled to confirm the presence of anomalous cobalt seen at bedrock in hole #Z-90. The results of the re-test were negative, but the location was of sufficient interest to cause the drilling of the short diamond drill hole in the /9 yi+ program, to recover core for a look at the underlying structure.
1997 Program 88 air rotary drill hole to test bedrock formation. Geology The section of bedrock drilled consisted of grey green argillites and quartzite.
