The Project was declared effective on November 29, 2012. The Project was officially launched in country during the supervision mission that took place from February 4 to 9, 2013. The workshop which launched the Project was very well attended and included three Government Ministers and about 100 guests from the public and private sectors. Page 1 of 5
This was a good opportunity to inform all the relevant stakeholders about the objectives, components and activities of the Project and it was well appreciated by everyone present at the workshop. During the mission, one of the remaining disbursement conditions, i.e., the Signature of a Project agreement between IDA and Maison de l'entreprise and Subsidiary Agreement between the Government of Niger and la Maison de l'entreprise was met. It needs to be completed by a legal opinion to be issued confirming the validity of these signings under the laws of Niger. The only other remaining disbursement condition related to Subcomponent 1.3. Enterprise Development and Investment Promotion in identified Value Chains and other Priority Sectors that still needs to be is the Recruitment of the staff of la Maison de l'entreprise which is in progress.
