Abstract Conditional Mode and its Meaning in Hadith Ashareef By: Dalia H, Khaleel Husein Supervisor: Dr. Mahmoud H. Magalsah This research investigates the concept of conditional mode in Hadith Ashareef, seeing that Hadith Ashareef in its essence is a legislation for mankind explaining religions rules, defining what is lawful and what is unlawful in human beings' saying and doings, as the Muslim doings are always connected with reward and punishment, that is why it is necessary that Hadith Ashareef must always specify reward and punishment. The object of the research was restricted to Sahih AlBukhari compiled by Iman Muhammad bin Ismai'l. Bukhari and specifically Ahadith which are the Prophet's sayings and not his actions or the actions done by his approval. This study consists of an introduction that includes the research goal, a review of related previous works, as well as chapters comprising the thesis. The first chapter deals with apocopate analogous conditional articles order as they come in Hadith Ashareef. The second chapter deals with analogous non apocopate conditional articles ordered as they also come in Hadith Ashareef. The third chapter includes nonanalogous conditional divided into two sections. The second section presents conditions in definite contexts without a stable frame governing them. Every coherence from the previous conditional ones was presented by simplified syntactical symbol of the constructive patterns of coherence found in Hadith Ashateef, then comes an explanation of meanings clarified in a continuous manner as dictated by lexical context. This research is accompanied by statistical analysis as it has effect on semantic variations where the conditional circle of new coherences were expanded as it became visible in the last chapter. Moreover, conditional mode is commonly used in Hadith Ashareef and particularly, the conditional coherences (if, who ) because their meaning have close connection with all conditions and times of the Muslim doings, all in accordance with peculiarities of the Prophet's explanations and his interest in Muslim's life. The research is furnished with a conclusion containing the most important results reached in the research so as to clarify the extension of conformity of conditional mode in Hadith Ashareef with nearly most stances of syntax scholars, and few nonconformity ones with them. This results in and asserts an important matter, that syntax scholars' stances and rules should not always be taken as accepted and indisputable ones. Surely, Hadith Ashareef is a fertile aspect for research which still requires more and more efforts of researchers to investigate Hadith based on real aspects of life lived by people and not evidence made by grammarians.
