Curriculum Vitae Name: Dr. Kamaldeep Paul (PhD, Department of Chemistry, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar; Postdoc, Yonsei University, S. Korea) Present Position: Assistant Professor, School of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Thapar University, Patiala-147004 Email: kpaul@thapar.edu, kamal.paul2001@gmail.com Area of Specialization: Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry Area of Research: Our research group is involved in design and multistep synthesis of various hybrid molecules of biological active heterocyclic moieties and their appendages which are identified as a new class of cancer chemotherapeutic agents with significant therapeutic efficacy against solid tumors. These nitrogen-containing hybrid heterocyclic compounds are characterized by various spectroscopic techniques viz. NMR (1D and 2D NMR), Mass, IR, CHN analysis, Single X-ray crystal etc. These compounds are evaluated in vitro as multidrug resistance (MDR) modulators (anticancer), kinase inhibitors (anticancer), antimalarial and antituberculosis activity and studies the structure activity relationships (SAR) to find out most potent drugs.
