Rickaby, Deputy Minister of Mines, Department of Mines, Parliament Buildings, Toronto,. Dear Mr. Rickaby: Enclosed with this letter I am forwarding to you a report in duplicate covering geophysical work performed on 3 claims numbered T-30924, T-30925, and T-31149 situated in Casey and Harris Townships. The geophysical work credit is based on a seismograph survey which covered a general area including the 3 claims mentioned above. A report with supporting map and cross sections prepared by Mr. F. B. Wigbels, a member of the geophysical staff of Gulf Research & Development Company AS attached. We are reporting for assessment credit 'here in the actual man-days applicable to the 3 claims. Since the man-days consumed in obtaining the field observations alone amounted to more than the 40 days' maximum geophysical credit, we are asking that the maximum be approved for each claim. A breakdown of the man-days spent on these claims with their assessment credit values is shown in the following schedule! Lineoutting G. 0. Linecutting, as listed above, consists of actual cutting, chaining, land levelling, etc. Very close chaining was required for seismic purposes. I am also enclosing a copy of our Schedule A which accompanied each work report filed with the Mining Recorder. This schedule shows a complete listing of the men employed on this survey and the dates on which the work was performed. Very truly yours, RSF/JMV E. W. Vestrick. Attachments follow in this ordert 1. Schedule A showing the names of employees engaged in work reported* 2. Seismograph report written by P. B. Wigbels. 3. Key map showing location of claims, scale A" to the mile. 4. Cross sections showing seismograph data and geological interpretation.

ASSESSMENT REPORT ON SEISMOGRAPH SURVEYS DOMINION GULF COMPANY CLAIMS IN HARRIS AND CASEY TOWNSHIPS This report deals with the results obtained from seismograph surveys over and along two claims in Harris Township and one claim in Casey Township held by Dominion Gulf Company of Toronto* These surveys were conducted as an integral part of a larger reconnaissance seismo graph survey in these two townships. The seismograph results were reduced and interpreted in the field during the survey and later rein terpreted at the Gulf Laboratories in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. 1. Reasons for the Survey The primary reason for the seismic survey was to delineate fa vorable areas and zones for any future diamond drilling program and to give us a better picture of the geology in the area. 2. Dates of the Field Work The following profiles were shot on the dates listed (full and part days): Profile A Profile B Profile C Profile D Profile E November November November November September November October 6 6-10, 1951 16 6-17, 1951 19, 1951 19, 1951 19, 1951 20, 1951 11, 1951 Claim T- 31149, Claim T- 30924, Claim T- 30924. Claim T- 30925. Claim T- 30925, Claira T- 30925, Claim T- 30924, Casey Twp.. Line cutting, chaining, picketing and transit surveying were: Profile A October l, 1951 Profile B October l, 1951 Profile C September 30, 1951 September 30, 1951 Profile D September 25, 1951 (partly shot before surveyed) Profile E September 27, 1951 (no line cutting) Claim T-31149, Casey Twp., Claim T-30924, Claim T-30924, Claim T-30925, Claim T-30925, Claim T-30924, The total time spent on these profiles was 6-1/2 days. This was a part of a larger reconnaissance seismic survey conducted by the field party between September 17 and November 20, 1951, inclusive. The crew consisted of nine men, 3. Results Obtained 80 Detector Stations 19 Shot Points l Mile The thickness of the overburden was obtained at each detector station as calculated from the observed arrival times. From known outcrops it was possible to extend rock types beneath the overburden and to delineate contacts, as shown on the accompany ing cross sections. F. B.
