/r Occurrence 3- This vein system occurs dominantly in fine to very'fine grain biotite granite. At the eastern edge of the exposure it appears to pass into Sibley sediments. At the west edge of vein exposure the breccia zone has been trenched.just south of claim 845358. The breccia is composed of boulder size granitic fragments which show the development of some secondary muscovite or sericite. The cement is white to colourless quartz with minor amethyst lining vugs. Vugs are small, rarely exceeding 10cm in diameter. Further east, the vein system follows the edge of a small cliff. The width of the network is obscured by overburden, but appears to several meters, up to 15m wide. Individual veins average 1-lOcm in width and follow two main orientations; 010/90 and306x90. Minor brecciation occurs at vein intersections. The veins tend to widen towards the west. The paragenesis of the veins is: 1) 3mm white chalcedony, 1mm red chalcedony 2) lcm amethyst, I-III 3) milky quartz The milky quartz is not always present. Some of the quartz is coloured by the presence of hematite inclusions, and appears orange. Hematite caps are common. The wider veins, 3-4cm, are often brecciated, fragments composed of both granite and vein quartz from previous stages of deposition. These breccias arc generally quite porous, containing* abundant 6lcm vugs. The vein can be traced over 70m by the presence of either outcrop or float, which in the east is composed of Sibley siltstone which has been brecciated.
