- - GEOLOGY OF BOND 2-7 CLAIMS Vernon Min. Div., British Columbia INTRODUCTION: This report is a preliminary geological appraisal of the potential for gold-bearing structures on the subject property, which has no previous record of such features on it. It is on the east slope of Bald Range Creek, which flows southerly into Bear (Lambly) Creek. The claims are about 4 Km northwest of Kelowna, and about 3 Km northwest of the old Bluehawk gold mine on Bluegrouse Mountain. Evaluation is based on data gathered in the field by belt chain and compass tied to roads and topographic features, done on Sept. 29, 984; and April 6, May 3, 985. PURPOSE : Aim of this work was to preliminary-map the geologic setting: the contact fringe of a granodiorite batholith bordered by quartz diorite, which intrudes Paleozoic metasediments and andesites. Gold and silver values occur in quartz veins in dioritic plugs at the Bluehawk mine, and on the Bond, 2-unit claim adjoining to the west. LOCATION & ACCESS: The claims are about 4; Km west of Okanagan Lake at an altitude of 3,5 ft. (,7m). or 2,39 ft. (729m) above sea level. Access is by auto via logging roads north of Bear Lake road, in the valley bottom of Bald Range Creek, or by Terrace Main road, which traverses Bond 2, 4 and 6 claims. Bear (Lambly) Lake road is reached via Highway 97 north from the Westside turnoff, about one mile west of Kelowna bridge. PROPERTY: The property consists of Bond 2 - Bond 7 two-post claims that were staked to cover an inferred trend of prospective gold-bearing structures southeasterly from adjoining Bond claim.

Widespread overburden, even on steep slopes, likely inhibited prospecting in the area. GENERAL GEOLOGY: These claims are on the western border of the Shuswap metamorphic terrane, a broad region of old sedimentary belts and granitic plutons. The southwest edge of a Jura-Cretaceous granitic pluton, the Vernon quartz monzonite, trends across the middle of the property, marked by the obscured contact of its quartz-diorite border phase with metased+ments and andesites of the late Paleozoic Thompson Assemblage, which may be an eastern facies of the Cache Creek Group, or may be a discrete terrane (G.S.C. Open File 637, Map B). LOCAL GEOLOGY: Drainage linears trend NW-SE across the property, interrupted by zig-zag northerly linears of Bald Range Creek bordering the west side of the claims. As outcrops are scarce, interpretations are based on roadside geology along Terrace Main Road and on forest access roads that have relatively few bedrock exposures. Geology mapped along Bald Range Creek is projected southwest onto the property where feasible. This preliminary appraisal suggests the presence of a dominant northwest-southeast trend of deep-seated normal faulting across the property with subordinate northerly trending faults evidenced by Bald Range Creek and

-3- scarce drainage linears. Moderate to strong hematization and silicification i.s common to both faulting trends. Intrusive plugs occur along the southwest front of the Vernon granitic pluton, and one such plug, a pyritic diorite mass, lies on the southeast corner of Bond 3 claim. Gold and silver bearing quartz veins occur in a similar plug at the Bluehawk mine to the southeast. An oval topographic high on Bond 4 and 5 claims may reflect a quartz diorite plug. Outcrops are lacking, but lamprophyre dykes cut the northwest toe of this feature, which could be a cupola high finger projecting from the pluton. SUMMARY & CONCLUSIONS: The structural intersection of Bald Range Creek and inferred NW-SE major faulting could be a favorable site for structurally controlled gold-silver deposits of the quartz vein and breccia lode types, in satellite plugs, Cache Creek beds, and in the Nelson age quartz diorite rim of the Vernon granitic pluton. RECOMMENDATIONS:. Accordingly, the pyritic, faulted diorite area on Bond 3 should be prospected for quartz veins and hydrothermal alteration. t 2. The anomalous high on Bond 4 and 5 should be geochemically surveyed for gold and silver and related values in arsenic, tin, tungsten and molybdenum as guides to further exploration. 3. Outcrops should be sought further to delineate the porphyritic quartz monzonite core of the batholith, which may be of Tertiary (Valhalla) age, and, be gold-related....
