ي The Degree of Employee Acquisition of News Production skills in the News center in the Jordanian Television By Mohammad Abdullah Nzal Al-Owemer Supervisor Dr Hamedah Mahdi Smiesim Abstract This study aimed at identifying the degree of acquisition of Media Skills of the workers (announcers, agents and editors) in the centre of news management in the Jordan TV and its correlation with a number of variables such as gender, age, and years of experience, qualifications and job specialization Sampling survey was conducted on 106 announcers, agents and editors using a credible questionnaire and appropriate statistical methods The results of the survey were identical with the results of the questionnaire Research indicated that the degree of acquisition of Media skills of the announcers, agents and editors working in the centre of news management in the Jordan TV was of an average In addition, no statistical significance was shown at level (α 005) of the average scores of Media skills of announcers, agents and editors in the centre of news management in the Jordan TV in correlation with variables of gender, age, years of experience and qualifications However, statistical significance appeared at level (α 005) of the average scores of Media skills of announcers agents and editors working in the centre of news
management in the Jordan TV in correlation with the variable of job specialisation the significant difference was on behalf of announcers and editors compared with agents The researcher concludes that the centre of news management should appoint holders of Press and Media degrees for their knowledge in the field of Media in addition to workers of distinguished experience The researcher also stresses the importance of improving the workers competence in needed skills of working in Media as well as improving their English and Arabic language so that they could keep up with the competitive world of TV channels
