Concept of CAIAG Information - Communication System

Scheme of natural disaster monitoring station Data Acquisition Data Control Station control and management

CAIAG Monitoring Network CAWa: Meteo+GNSS + VSAT - BAYT (Baytik) GNSS: GCO: Meteo + GNSS + VSAT - MRZ1 (Merzbacher) Seismo: (Network Caremon): - SUFI (Sufikurgan) Smart (VSAT+seismo + meteo + GNSS): - TARA (Taragai) - ENEL (Enelchek) - ASAI (Aksai) - KRGT (Kerege-Tash) + EDGE - KRBK (Kara-Batkak) + EDGE - TKUM (Tash-Komur) + EDGE - ARSL (Arslanbob) - BIS2 (Bishkek; GFZ & CAIAG station )

CAIAG GPS/GNSS Network small triangles are campaign-mode sites, not permanent; e.g. in coop. Earthquake Administration of Xinjiang (EAX), (Xinjiang Seismological Bureau), Right triangles are CAIAG stations (pink color - GNSS only, yellow - smart (seismo, meteo and GNSS), blue - BIS2 station on CAIAG roof which is controlled by GFZ and works in quasi real time. Green back triangles are Tajik stations. Red squares are Russian Station RAS (IVTAN) stations.

March 12, 2010 flood in Kazakhstan due to rupture on the dam at village Kyzyl-Agash The aftermath of the flood in the village of Kyzyl-Agash March 15, 2010 The death toll from the flood 34, thousand evacuated Emergencies Ministry informed. Spring flooding is a frequent occurrence in Central Asia but a sudden rise in temperatures following weeks of heavy snow storms has exacerbated the problem this year.

Emergency Observation were requested on ALOS data False Color Composite (FCC) before FCC after the flood, the image clearly shows wet areas

Disaster area maps were created by visual interpretation from ALOS data and by Topographic maps (scale 1:100 000) and information from Ministry of emergency situations. The underflooding zone of the Balhash sea area is 2 604 square kilometers and Kyzyl Agash flood area is 1 128 square kilometers.
