The Additional Financing (IDA credit ofus$15.1m equivalent and IDA grant of US$12.3M) was approved by IDA on June 7, 2011 and became effective on February 23, 2012. The project aims to help finance costs for scaling up impacts of the original project with a focus on increasing sustainable access to water services in targeted project cities (N'Djamena, Sarh, Abeche and Doba). The main activity associated with the Additional Finance is a Service Contract to support the Société Tchaddienne des Eaux (STE), whose request for proposal (RFP) has already been sent out. RFPs are initially due on September 13th, 2012. The project has submitted to the Bank a draft of a Performance Contract between the Government and STE, part of the dated legal covenants. The rest of the due dated legal covenants for the Additional Finance have been complied with. The project has also made progress in engaging civil society for their participation in the STE reform process.
