This event will rotate annually between the four Western Canadian Provinces (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia) to link people, with the information, skills, experience, and equipment. This conference is tailored specifically to issues that our public works departments face with Canadian winters and will bring together snowfighters from every corner of the winter maintenance community for a packed exhibit floor, quality education programs, and opportunities to exchange ideas. We invite you and your personnel to attend to gain valuable information and knowledge, connect with other individuals in your field, and contact with suppliers and other industry professionals! We are currently working on the Conference Agenda that will show the wide variety of topics that we are excited to offer delegates. The SPWA is pleased to invite you to take part in our Snow Plow Roadeo! The Snow Plow Rodeo will be enjoyable to watch and even more fun to compete in. Check out the rules and regulations in the attached package and, if you ve got what it takes, sign up to drive and you'll be competing for the claim the title of champion of snowplowing! Day 1 of the conference consists of concurrent educational/technical sessions, tradeshow open over 7 hours, and Roadeo trials in the afternoon. This allows delegates the opportunity to speak with the many suppliers who can show you first-hand the benefits they offer. On day 2, the morning is full educational/technical sessions and the Roadeo competition. Two roadways round tables are being hosted in the afternoon. Be it training, new products, or enhanced services, you will be presented with ways to improve the functionality and efficiency of your public works winter operation. 5 2018 Snow Plow Roadeo Competition COMPETITION PRINCIPLES: The Competition is intended to demonstrate: o Accuracy o Skill o Proficiency o Good Sportsmanship in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere COMPETITION FORMAT: Competitors will be required to register by 1:30 pm Wednesday for a competition briefing, with the competition beginning at 2:00 pm The competition will consist of 1 trial and 1 competition run per contestant. Contestants are scored on both runs. Practical Course - Competitors are timed from the start line of the course and stopped when dismounted at the end of the course. The competitors will be scored as to how accurately they can negotiate the various obstacles in the course. FINALS: Roadeo begins at 9:30 am on Thursday The competitor with the highest combined score will be the Western Canada Champion (In the event of a tie in the scores, the competitor s time to negotiate the course will be used to decide who will be declared the champion)

7 PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT RELEASE AND LIABILITY WAIVER In consideration for participating the Saskatchewan Public Works Association ( SPWA ) Snow Plow Roadeo ( Roadeo ) to be held on September 26-27, 2018 at Prairieland Park Trade & Convention Centre, in Saskatoon, SK and using certain snow plow equipment ( Equipment ) for the purpose of Western Canada Snow Conference Snow Plow Roadeo, I on behalf of myself and my employer, ( Employer ) agree as follows. I represent that I am fully familiar with the Equipment that I will operate in the Roadeo and have been trained by my employer in the safe and proper operation of the Equipment and that I possess a valid License. I further represent that I have inspected the Equipment for unsafe conditions and have participated in a safety and course briefing conducted by the SPWA prior to my participation in the Rodeo. I acknowledge and understand that my participation in the Roadeo entails known and reasonably foreseeable risk, which are inherent in the nature of the activity and could result in physical injury. I am aware and understand the risks associated with participation in the Roadeo. I expressly agree and promise to accept and assume all of the risks existing in my participation in the Roadeo. If I am injured, I acknowledge that I may require medical assistance, which I acknowledge will be at my own expense or the expense of my employer or my personal insurance. I hereby represent and affirm that I have adequate and appropriate insurance to provide coverage for such medical expense. I UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT THE SPWA WILL NOT PAY FOR ANY COST OR EXPENSES INCURRED BY ME IF I AM INJURED UNLESS SUCH INJURY WAS CAUSED BY THE SOLE GROSS NEGLIGENCE OF THE SPWA. In consideration of my participation in the Roadeo, I behalf of myself and my Employer do hereby voluntarily agree to hold harmless, release and discharge the SPWA of and from all claims, demands, causes of action, and legal liability, whether the same be known or unknown, anticipated or unanticipated due to the SPWA's ordinary negligence. I, for myself and on behalf of my Employer further voluntarily agree that, except in the event of the SPWA's gross negligence and willful and wanton misconduct, I shall not bring any claims, demand, legal actions and causes of action, against the SPWA for any economic and non-economic losses due to bodily injury, death, property damage sustained by me that are in any way associated the conduct of the Roadeo with the Equipment. I certify that I am physically able to participate in the Roadeo and have the express written permission of my Employer to participate in the Roadeo and further certify that I am willing to assume the risk of any medical or physical condition that I may have. I acknowledge that I have read the rules established by the SPWA governing my participation in the Roadeo. I agree that if any portion of this Agreement is found to be void or unenforceable, the remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect. I further grant the SPWA the right, without reservation or limitation, to photograph, videotape, and/or record me and to use my name, face, likeness, voice and appearance in connection with exhibitions, publicity, advertising and promotional materials. By signing this document, I acknowledge that if anyone is hurt or property is damaged during my participation in the Roadeo, I may be found by a court of law to have waived my right and my Employer s right maintain a lawsuit against the SPWA on the basis of any claim from which I have released them here in. I have had sufficient opportunity to read this entire document. I understand this Agreement and I voluntarily agree to be bound by its terms.
