17 Current Status & Future After successful commissioning in early 2014, IGRINS has started regular observations from Sep at HJST 2.7m telescope in McDonald observatory, Texas. Virtually all the bright nights at HJST have been used by IGRINS. ~10 Sci. papers published so far. A lot more coming! IGRINS is now visiting DCT 4.3m telescope in Lowell observatory, Arizona. IGRINS is expected to visit Gemini South in early 2018 IGRINS will serve as a pathfinder of GMTNIRS on GMT.
