66 Conclusions Evidence that that vortices in in the the cuprate superconductors carry a flavor index which encodes the the spatial modulations of of a proximate insulator. Quantum zero zero point motion of of the the vortex provides a natural explanation for for LDOS modulations observed in in STM experiments. Size Size of of modulation halo halo allows estimate of of the the inertial mass of of a vortex Direct detection of of vortex zero-point motion may may be be possible in in inelastic neutron or or light-scattering experiments The The quantum zero-point motion of of the the vortices influences the the spectrum of of the the electronic quasiparticles, in in a manner consistent with with LDOS spectrum Aharanov-Bohm or or Berry phases lead lead to to surprising kinematic duality relations between seemingly distinct orders. These phase factors allow for for continuous quantum phase transitions in in situations where such transitions are are forbidden by by Landau-Ginzburg-Wilson theory.
