2 Flr twist utlets nstructin design Preliminary remarks Air utlets frm KRANTZ KOMPONENTEN fr use in raised flr systems perate accrding t the principle f air distributin frm bttm t tp and discharge the supply air draught-free int the rm. Heat, air pllutants and drus substances are displaced frm the ccupied zne t the ceiling zne and remved with the return air. The replacement f indr air with cnditined supply air is very intensive and the resultant air quality in the ccupied zne is extrardinarily gd. nstructin design The main cmpnent f the flr twist utlet is the air utlet element 1 with radially arranged air slts 1a. The DB-E flr twist utlet is used in cnventinal raised flr systems. If the flr plan is altered, the flr tiles with r withut air utlets are easily interchangeable. The lcal air supply can therefre be increased r reduced as required. There are tw cnnectin methds (Figure 1): Flr plenum system: The supply air enters the air utlet frm belw. The space under the raised flr acts as an air plenum. Ductline system: The flr twist utlet is cnnected t the duct system by means f a rectangular cnnectin bx with flexible tubing. There are tried and tested methds fr installing the air utlet: 1. Insertin in the stepped bre in the flr tile.. Installatin with clamp insert in a thrugh bre in the flr tile. There is a cllar n the tp f the clamp insert which functins as edging fr the tile cutut arund the air utlet. This ptin is useful fr raised flrs with carpeting. The clamp insert can be fixed t the flr tile with a clamp nut a, claw fastener b r clamp cllar d. The DN 0 twist element is als lckable t prevent unauthrized remval. 1) A standard flr twist utlet accessry is the distributr basket fr even air supply. Recmmended minimum spacing between seats is 1 m fr size DN 1 and 1 t 1. m fr DN 0. Due t the many slts single twisted, high-turbulence air jets frm with an intensive inductin effect (Fig. ). This causes a rapid velcity reductin and a fast equalizatin f the supply air temperature and the indr air temperature. The supply frm belw prduces an upflw in the same directin as the buyancy caused by the heat lads in the rm. 6 Flr twist utlets Temperature equalizatin Jet temperature and velcity The generatin f high-inductin supply air jets with rapid velcity reductin and fast equalizatin f jet temperature and indr air temperature help a great deal in preventing draughts. Air utlets frm KRANTZ KOMPONENTEN are knwn t be eminently suited t meet this requirement. With air supply frm belw, flr twist utlets thus prduce excellent results in draught-free ventilatin. We recmmend an air utlet vlume flw rate in the machinery zne f abut. l/s ( m /h) and in the ccupied zne f maximum l/s ( m /h). Minimum air utlet spacing f wrkplaces with cntinual presence f persnnel must be 1 m. A denser air utlet placement is mre effective fr specific heat remval frm the machinery zne. Here it is better t use size DN 1, since the flr tiles can accmmdate up t fur air utlets, depending n measurements. Size DN 1 thus enables an exact adjustment f the supply air vlume flw rate t different lcal machinery heat lads. DS E Bl. 0.0

11 Flr twist utlets Types available and features DS E Bl. 0.0/1 Size DN 0 Selecting air utlets with large vlume flw rates has the fllwing advantages: lw number f air utlets, few apertures in raised flr, few supply pipes with direct duct cnnectin, lw investment csts. In such cases the use f size DN 0 has prved t be effective. The vlume flw rate is fur times larger than with size DN 1. It amunts t max. l/s (0 m /h), in the ccupied zne max. l/s (1 m /h). Due t the large (lcal) vlume flw rate, higher jet velcities ccur in the near zne f the utlet as cmpared with size DN 1. A brief spell abve the air utlet is nt, hwever, uncmfrtable.
