Drawing on its incomparable experience STEINWAY has created the BOSTON PIANO. Using the most sophisticated computer modeling, STEINWAY & SONS adapted proven concepts and materials for the unique requirements of high technology manufacturing. An innovative design provides large and powerful sound, giving the feeling of a much larger grand piano. Tapered SOLID SITKA SPRUCE, similar to that of STEINWAY, causes the soundboard to vibrate more freely, resulting in a powerful large sound. The LOW-TENSION scale, similar to that of STEINWAY, creates that long rich sustain frequently missing from other name brands. BRIDGES ARE VERTICALLY LAMINATED WITH SOLID MAPLE CAP IN GRANDS, REVERSE CROWNED IN BOTH GRANDS AND UPRIGHTS. These materials, combined with this technology, transfer the sound to the soundboard in a much better way than most conventional designs. WISCONSIN HARD ROCK MAPLE, laminated multi-directionally for tighter pin fit and smoother tuning, provides better tuning stability.
