Since 1844, Harden has been producing fine furniture in its Central New York facilities. FORESTRY Harden owns thousands of acres of forested land in New York State and is able to maintain an ample native hardwood supply without compromising natural resources. By working toward and achieving SFI certification, Harden has proven its commitment to the environment and responsible forestry practices. ENDICOTT Medium brown tone with dark glaze residue in distressed and recessed areas allows for more antiqued highlights. STAFFORD Deep warm red tones highlight this handantiqued look with dark glaze residue in distressed and recessed areas. OLD TAVERN A hand-waxed finish rendered in a warm brown tone with areas of burnishing & artistic antiquing. SARANAC Rich brown tones highlight this finish with dark glaze residue in distressed and recessed areas, giving it an aged appearance. 31 Welcome to the world of Harden As you walk through the doors of our showroom in McConnellsville, NY, you will see how Harden s timeless styling blends with nearly any decorating theme, be it casual or formal. Our showroom managers will be happy to answer any questions you may have concerning fabrics, dimensions, wood finishes, etc. The showroom is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are located in the heart of New York State, 15 miles north of the New York State Thruway, just off Route 13 between Vienna and Camden, as shown on the map. You may also participate in a weekly one-hour tour of our manufacturing facilities, conducted each Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Please arrive at or before this hour as there is but one tour. 32 Planning for future. generations... Since 1844, Harden Furniture has combined a dedication to craftsmanship with a responsible approach to the environment. By practicing responsible long-term forestry, Harden is able to maintain a healthy reserve of raw materials while supporting recreation, habitat and wildlife diversity. As a result of these efforts, Harden Furniture has become the first major furniture manufacturer to obtain certification by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) program. In addition to forestry preservation, Harden has been active in other environmentally sensitive areas. The use of ozone depleting chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) in the manufacturing of upholstery foams is one of the key issues currently challenging the furniture industry. Despite the added expense, Harden responds to this concern by using only foams produced with ozone friendly materials. At Harden, the environment is not a new issue. It s been part of our thinking for generations, and is part of the legacy that we leave future generations.
