We collect here various cojectures o cogrueces made by the author i a series of aers, some of which ivolve biary quadratic forms ad other advaced theories. Part A cosists of 00 usolved cojectures of the author while cojectures i Part B have bee recetly cofirmed. We hoe that this material will iterest umber theorists ad stimulate further research. Number theorists are welcome to wor o those oe cojectures; for some of them we offer rizes for the first correct roofs. Itroductio Cogrueces modulo rimes have bee widely ivestigated sice the timeoffermat. However, wefidthattherearestilllotsofewchallegig cogrueces that caot be easily solved. They aeal for ew owerful tools or advaced theory. Here we collect various cojectures of the author o cogrueces, most of which ca be foud i the author s aers available from arxiv or his homeage. We use two sectios to state cojectures ad related remars. Part A cotais 00 usolved cojectures of the author while Part B cosists of cojectures that have bee recetly cofirmed. Most of the cogrueces here are suer cogrueces i the sese that they hae to hold modulo some higher ower of. The toic of suer cogrueces is related to the -adic Γ-fuctio, Gauss ad Jacobi sums, hyergeometric series, modular forms, Calabi-Yau maifolds, ad some sohisticated combiatorial idetities ivolvig harmoic umbers cf. K. Oo s boo [O]. The recet theory of suer cogrueces also ivolves Beroulli ad 200 Mathematics Subject Classificatio. Primary B65, A07; Secodary 05A0, 05A5, A4, B9, B68, E25, S99, C20, 65B0. Keywords. 2 2 ZHI-WEI SUN Euler umbers see [Sb, Se] ad various series related to π cf. [vh], [S-7] ad [T]. May cogrueces collected here are about a /m modulo owers of a rime, where m is a iteger ot divisible by ad the quatity a is a sum or a roduct of some biomial coefficiets which usually arises from eumerative combiatorics. For clarity, we ofte state the rime versio of a cojecture istead of the geeral versio. We also iclude several challegig cojectures o series related to π or the Dirichlet L-fuctio which arose from the author s ivestigatios of cogrueces, see Cojectures A, A5, A40, A44. For some cojectures we aouce rizes for the first correct roofs, see remars after Cojectures A, A9, A44, A46, A48. Now we itroduce some basic otatio i this aer. As usual, we set N = {0,,2,...} ad Z + = {,2,,...}. The Kroecer symbol δ m, taes or 0 accordig as m = or ot. The risig factorial x is defied by x = x+, ad x 0 is regarded as. For a iteger m ad a ositive odd umber, the otatio m stads for the Jacobi symbol. For a odd rime, we use q 2 to deote the Fermat quotiet 2 /. For a rime ad a ratioal umber x, the -adic valuatio of x is give by ν x = su{a N : x 0 mod a }. For a olyomial or a ower series Px, we write [x ]Px for the coefficiet of x i the exasio of Px. For,..., N, we defie the multiomial coefficiet + +,..., Harmoic umbers are give by := + +!.!! H 0 = 0 ad H = = =,2,,... For N, C deotes the Catala umber 2 + = ad C 2 stads for the first id secod-order Catala umber 2+ = 2. Note that if is a odd rime the 2 = 2! + 0 mod for every =,...,.! 2 2
3 OPEN CONJECTURES ON CONGRUENCES Beroulli umbers B 0,B,B 2,... are ratioal umbers give by B 0 = ad + B = 0 for Z + = {,2,,...}. It is well ow that B 2+ = 0 for all Z + ad x e x = =0 B x! x < 2π.
