This wor is dedicated to Dr. Rubén A. Cerutti Abstract The aim of this paper is to introduce an alternative definition for the -Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative given in [6] and whose advantage is that it is the left inverse of the corresponding of -Riemann- Liouville fractional integral operator introduced by [5]. Its basic properties are discussed, their Laplace transform, the derivative of the potential function and the derivative of the Mittag-Leffler -function introduced in [2] is calculated. Mathematics Subject Classification: 26A33 Keywords: -Fractional calculus. -Riemann-Liouville fractional integral I Introduction and Preliminaries For further development of this wor we need to remember elements of fractional calculus as derivatives and integrals of arbitrary orders. Also remember the action of integral transforms such as Laplace transformation on fractional operators. Definition 1 Let f L 1 loc [a, b] where a < t < b. The Riemann- Liouville integral of order ν is defined as
482 Gustavo Abel Dorrego I ν f(t) := 1 Γ(ν) a (t τ) ν 1 f(τ)dτ ν > 0. (I.1) Definition 2 Let f L 1 [a, b], a < t < b and I n ν f(t) W n,1 [a, b], n = [ν] + 1, ν > 0 The Riemann-Liouville derivative of order ν, is given by D ν f(t) := I n ν f(t), (I.2) where W n,1 [a, b] = {f L 1 [a, b] : f (n) L 1 [a, b]} is the Sobolev space. Definition 3 Let f : R + R an exponential order and piecewise continuous function, then the Laplace transform of f is L{f(t)}(s) := The integral exist for Re(s) > 0. 0 e st f(t). (I.3) In 2012 Mubeen-Habbibulah (cf.[5]) introduced -Riemann-Liouville fractional integral given by Definition 4 Let α R + and n N such that n 1 < α < n, f L 1 ([0, )) then the -Riemann-Liouville fractional integral of f is where I α f(t) = 1 Γ (α) 0 Γ (α) = (t τ) α 1 f(τ)dτ = t α 1 0 t α 1 e t, > 0. Γ (α) f(t) (I.4) (I.5) is the -Gamma function introduced in [1] and whose relationship with the classical Gamma function is ( Γ (α) = α α ) 1 Γ (I.6) Is important to note that for 1, Γ (α) Γ(α), thus I α 1. The -integral (I.4) also satisfies the semigroup property Proposition 1 Let α, β R +, f L 1 ([0, )) and > 0, then Iα for Cf.[5] formula (10) p. 91. I α I β f(t) = Iα+β f(t) = I β Iα f(t) (I.7)
-Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative 483 Proposition 2 Let f be a sufficiently well-behaved function and let α be a real number, 0 < α 1. The Laplace transform of the -Riemann-Liouville fractional integral of the function f is given by L{I α f(t)}(s) = L{f(t)}(s), cf.[6]. (I.8) (s) α In 2013 [6] introduced the following Definition 5 Let β R such that 0 < β < 1; f L 1 ([0, )) and > 0 the -Riemnnan-Liouville fractional derivative of order β of f is D β f(t) = d I1 β f(t) (I.9) Unfortunately, this derivative is not a left inverse of the corresponding integral operator of the same order as can be verified easily, since D α (I α f(t)) = d [ I 1 α I α f(t) ] ( ) t 1 1 = d I1 f(t) = d Γ (1) f(t) ( ) = d t 1 1 Γ (1) f(t) = 1 I1 f(t) f(t) This fact led to an alternative definition according to the development of the classical fractional calculus. Suppose we want to solve the following integral equation (which can be considered as a generalization of the Abel equation of the first ind) I α f(t) = u(t) (I.10) To solve (I.10), we see a left inverse operator of the -Riemann-Liouville fractional integral of the order α. To do this we note that, using equation (I.6), we have that the -Riemann-Liouville fractional integral introduced in [5] it related to the classical Riemann-Liouville fractional integral by I α f(t) = α I α f(t) Therefore, by replacing (I.11) in (I.10) we have (I.11)
484 Gustavo Abel Dorrego I α f(t) = α u(t). As D α is the inverse operator to the left of I α result f(t) = D α α u(t), (I.12) In terms of the Riemann-Liouville derivative is: f(t) = α where p = [α/] + 1. If we use here once again (I.11) ( ) p d I p α u(t), (I.13) ( ) p f(t) = α d I p α u(t) ( ) p d = α p α I p α u(t) ( ) p d = p I p α u(t) This leads us to define a version of the classical Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative in terms of -Riemann-Liouville fractional integral given in [5]. II Main results Definition 6 Let, α R + and n N such that n = [ α] + 1, f L1 ([0, )) and I n α f(t) W n,1 [a, ); the modified -Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative is given by D α f(t) = n I n α f(t) (II.1) We note at first that, using (I.6) and (I.7) obtained
-Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative 485 D α I α f(t) = n I n α (I α f(t)) (II.2) = n I n f(t) (II.3) ( ) n d = n 1 t (t τ) n 1 f(τ)dτ (II.4) Γ (n) 0 ( ) n d = n 1 t (t τ) n 1 f(τ)dτ (II.5) n 1 Γ(n/) 0 ( ) n d 1 t = (t τ) n 1 f(τ)dτ (II.6) Γ(n) 0 = I n f(t) (II.7) = f(t) (II.8) This proves that indeed the operator D α is a left inverse of their corresponding integral operator I α. Note that the above proof also follows that n I n f(t) = f(t) (II.9) As a particular case of = 1 we have 1D α f(t) = D α f(t), where D α f(t) is a classic fractional derivative of Riemann-Liouville. Some basic properties of the modified -Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative are presented. Proposition 3 Let f L 1 ([0, )), n = [ α] + 1 and m = [ β ] + 1; then, α, β R + and n, m N such that If β > α D α I β f(t) = Iβ α f(t) (II.10) If β < α D α I β f(t) = D α β f(t) (II.11) Proof. To prove (II.10), by the semigroup property (I.7)we have ( ) D α I β f(t) = D α I α I β α f(t)
486 Gustavo Abel Dorrego = I β α f(t) To prove the case (II.11) by using again the semigroup property and (II.9) we have ) D α I β f(t) = n I n α (I β f(t) ( ) n m ( ) m d d ( ) = n m m I (n m) α I m I β f(t) ( ) n m ( ) m d d ( ) = n m m I m I (n m) α I β f(t) = n m ( d ) n m I (n m) (α β) f(t) = D α β f(t) Proposition 4 Let, α R + and r, n N such that n = [ α] + 1, f L 1 ([0, )) and I αf(t) ACr 1 ([0, )) = {f C r 1 ([0, ))/f (r 1) is absolutely continous}; then ( ) r d I α f(t) = 1 r Iα r f(t), if r α. (II.12) ( ) r d I α f(t) = 1 r D r α f(t), if r > α. (II.13) Proof. To prove (II.12) it is sufficient to derive r-times the integral of order α. To prove (II.13), we start with the second member, we tae p = [r α]+1 and we use (II.9) ( ) p 1 r D r α p d f(t) = I p r+α r f(t) ( ) p d = p r I (p r) I α f(t) = = ( ) r ( ) p r d d p r I (p r) I α f(t) ( ) r d I α f(t)
-Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative 487 Proposition 5 Let n N and α R + such that n = [ α] + 1, f L1 ([0, )) and I n α AC n ([0, )); then I α D α f(t) = f(t) D α j f(t) t=0 t α j Γ (α j + ) (II.14) Proof. Maing use of (I.6), (II.13) and the derivation rule for a parametric integral notice that I α D α f(t) = d 1. α 1 Γ ( α + 1) (t τ) α D α f(τ)dτ 0 }{{} ( ) (II.15) By integrating by parts n-fold the expression in bracets and applying (II.1) 1 ( ) =. α 1 Γ ( α n + 1) t α j+1. α 1 Γ ( α j + 2) = 0 (t τ) α n n I n α ( d (t τ) α n+ Γ (α n + ) 0 ( ) n j d n I n α t α f(τ) τ=0 = I α n+ I n α f(t) = I f(t) j 1 D α j D α j f(τ) τ=0 Replacing (II.16) in (II.15) result I α D α f(t) = d I f(t) = f(t) D α j f(τ) τ=0 f(τ)dτ ) n j n I n α f(τ) τ=0 1 I n α f(τ)dτ j+1. α 1 Γ ( α j + 2 ) f(τ) τ=0 t α j +1 α 1 Γ ( α j + 2 ) j 1 t α j +1 α 1 Γ ( α j + 2 ) (II.16) j 1 α 1 Γ ( α j + 2 ) D α j f(0) j 1 α 1 Γ ( α j + 1 )tα j ( ) d t α j +1
488 Gustavo Abel Dorrego = f(t) D α j f(0) j 1 Γ (α j + ) t α j Proposition 6 Let r, n N and α R + such that n = [ α]+1; f L1 ([0, )) and I n α f(t) AC n+r 1 ([0, )), then ( ) r d ( D α f(t)) = 1 r D r+α f(t) (II.17) Proof. From the first member and using (II.13) and (II.1) one has ( ) r ( ) r [( ) n ] d d d ( D α f(t)) = n I n α f(t) (II.18) ( ) n+r d = n I n α f(t) (II.19) = n 1 r+n D (n+r) n+α f(t) (II.20) = 1 r D r+α f(t) (II.21) Proposition 7 Let r, n N, and α R + such that n = [ α ] + 1 and f C n+r 1 ([0, )); then D α f (r) (t) = 1 r r D r+α f(t) n j 1 f (r j) t α j (0) Γ ( j α) (II.22) Proof. From (II.1), it result D α f (r) (t) = n I n α f (r) (t) (II.23) Calculating the integral I n α f (r) (t) via integration by parts r-times has I n α f (r) (t) = 1 r+1 Γ (n α r) 0 (t τ) n α r 1 f(τ)dτ r = 1 r In α r f(t) f (r j) (0) j+1 r n α j t Γ (n α j + ) f (r j) (0) j+1 n α j t Γ (n α j + ) (II.24)
-Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative 489 Substituting (II.24) into (II.23) D α f (r) (t) = n 1 r In α r Applying (II.13) result finally f(t) r f (r j) (0) j+1 t n α j Γ (n α j + ) D α f (r) (t) = 1 r r D r+α f(t) n j 1 f (r j) t α j (0) Γ ( j α) Proposition 8 Let f and D α f(t) be piecewise continuous and of exponential order, then the Laplace transform of the -Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative of f is given by L{ D α f(t)}(s) = (s) α L{f(t)}(s) (s) j D α j f(0) (II.25) Proof. Applying Laplace transform in the definition (II.1)) and using equations (I.8) and (II.13) is L{ D α f(t)}(s) = L{ n I n α f(t)}(s) = s n L{ n I n α f(t)}(s) s j ( d ) n j 1 n I n α f(t) t=0 [ ( ) ] n j 1 d = n s n L{I n α f(t)}(s) s j I n α f(t) t=0 [ ] = n s n (s) n α L{f(t)}(s) s j n+j+1 D α j f(t) t=0 = (s) n (s) n α L{f(t)}(s) s j j+1 D α j f(t) t=0 = (s) α L{f(t)}(s) (s) j Dα j f(t) t=0
490 Gustavo Abel Dorrego III Application Examples Proposition 9 Let, α, γ R + and n N such that n = [ α ] + 1 then D α (t γ 1 ) = n Γ (γ) Γ (γ α) t γ α 1 (III.1) Proof. The simple proof is done using definition 6 and formula (11) of [5]. From the above property follows that for γ = D α (1) = n Γ () α n Γ ( α) t = Γ ( α) t α (III.2) That is, the -Riemann-Liouville derivative of a constant function is not zero unless α = p for p R +. Proposition 10 Let ν, α, β, γ, R + and n N such that n = [ ν ] + 1; then ) (t β 1 E γ,α,β (t α ) = n t β ν 1 E γ,α,β ν (t α ) (III.3) Where D ν E γ,α,β (z) = z j (γ) j, j!γ (αj + β) (III.4) is the -Mittag-Leffler function introduced in [2] Proof. The simple proof is done using (II.1), the formula (III.1) and the uniform convergence of the serie (III.4). References [1] R. Díaz and E. Pariguan. On hypergeometric functions and -Pochammer symbol.
