BcA. František Fekete born 1993 in Košice visual artist and curator based in Prague frantisekfekete.com vimeo.com/user I consider myself as an intermedia artist. I am not fixed to a specific medium, however moving image and installation are the closest ones to me. Through artistic and curatorial practice I am trying to explore a world around me in different perspectives. I perceive art as an independent platform, which is ment to develop critical thinking and at the same time to help individual to search a subjective form of freedom in the contemporary world. In my recent artistic practice I have been interested mainly on a body movement exploring relationships between a subject and object.
C y r i l g a l l e r y, Prostějov 2017 installation (digital print on a plastic boards, sound) Scan my guilt (w/nina Grúňová) Adam came strangely to this world the body of a murderer sentenced to death was pickled in a gel and freezed. Then the Adam, scientific object, was cut and scanned to the digital images. The exhibition Scan my Guilt is showing us some of these scans, pulsing with the guilt. Sound installation consisted of a fictional dialog between the murderer and his judge is placing a question.what is the the guilt? Perhaps a feeling, a moral status, a state of conciousness, a colective knowledge or a social construction?
Google Your Melancholy installation (video, digital collages, music soundtrack, painting) GAMU, Prague 2017 The piece Google Your Melancholy is an installation combining different medias, creating a spatial composition in the gallery. It is consist of digital collages, animation, textual video and musical soundtrack. It is engaging the themes like melancholy, hopelessness and searching for an identity. It should communicate on a emotional rather than conceptual level. The result is a collage made from the reflections of the intimate and worshiping the public images and visual fragments found on the internet.
GAMU, Prague 2017 installation (video, digital collages, music soundtrack, painting) G o o g l e Yo u r Melancholy S o m e o n e f re e m e f ro m m y s k i n. Evaporated, now I am gone in the wind. Something ended, but nothing new did begin I carry on until my spine giving in. (lyrics excerpt from Lovenote by Bladee)
About Fascination and Non-understanding installation (9 graphis lists, telescope) GAMU, Prague 2017 Project About Fascination and Non-understanding continues the series of my work inspired by relationship between art and science. This installation includes 9 graphic lists (digital print over pencil drawing) and a telescope. Drawings come from several scientific diagrams, which i was redrawing and reinterpretating and combine with printed text structures. The telescope was ready-made object, representative of rational thinking.
The Circle Town installation (text video, digital collages, digital animation, readymade objects GAMU, Prague 2017 Project The Circle Town brought an inspiration from experimental essay (written by me), which describes a journey through city with circle groundplan and contemplating about philosophical meaning of change from circle to spiral. The content of the essays is reduced in included text video. The rest of the installation are visual fragments inspired by text. It includes two digital collages, animations, and ready made objects.
The Adventure of the Clash video loop How many signs could be hidden in a natural order of things besides that randomnly encrypted one?... One way or another, the reality around us has been already infected by possibilities of secret meanings. (Cosmos, Witold Gombrowitz). The Adventure of the Clash is a videoloop, which creates paranoid cycle of things and their meanings through moving image and actor s physical movement.
Climbing according to Drawing series of video performances 2016 Climbing according to Drawing is a videoperformance, in which I was subordinating my body movement to drawing line. My friends interpreted the drawing, which I drew myself, and gave me instructions how to move in a specific enviroment. Performance was primarly considered as an absurd act, whose purpose was also to provoke spectator to do similarly nonsensical actions in everyday life.
Emil Filla g a l l e r y, Ú s t í nad Labem 2015 installation (various materials) Things I am fascinated with Installation Things I am fascinated with represents a mental and physical map,a half open structure, which is a result of intuitive and rational approach. At the same time, when rationality writes with right hand, irrationality draws with the left one. One way or a n o t h e r, f r o m m i s u n d e r s t a n d i n g a f a s c i n a t i o n c a n b e b o r n.
Papírna, Pilsen 2015 installation (various materials) Things I do not understand The work Thing I do not understand was my bachelor project. Floor installation included drawings, sculptures and ready made objects. The main theme was relationships between science and art. The final work was somekind of a mental map, using fragments r e p r e s e n t i n g b o t h f i e l d s, w h i c h w e r e m i x e d o n e i n t o a n o t h e r. T h e m o s t i m p o r t a n t p a r t o f that were the drawings, in which the text was transformed into a automatical drawing.
The crooked Transmission video, Video The crooked transmission emerge from my fascination by city advertising object. Eventhough their primary purpose is to mediate a commercial content, I rather consider them as monumental sculptures. In video I was using different methods how to reduce their content, and try to show them in a new light - as beautiful objects.
2015 video performance, Climbing legs ahead Vi d e o p e r f o r m a n c e C l i m b i n g l e g s a h e a d b e l o n g s t o s e r i e s o f p e r f o r m a n c e s, i n w h i c h I c l i m b f r o m o n e p l a c e t o a n o t h e r i n a b n o r m a l w a y. I n t h i s s p e c i f i c c a s e I c l i m b w i t h l e g s ahead to a high seat. These actions are considered as absurd activities, in which the boundary between life and art is reexplored. Another purpose is to have fun, pull out myself from everyday life and rather to inspire spectators to do the same.
