2 Site Requiremets Operatig Space Requiremets The Symmetra TM is 60cm (23.5" wide, ad 70cm (27.5" deep. No space is required o the sides of the Symmetra TM frame. Rear Clearace A miimum of 30 cm (12" of clearace is required behid the frame for adequate airflow. The system eable switch must remai accessible. The back of the Symmetra TM must be accessible for the electricia to istall wirig. Frot Clearace A miimum of 122 cm (48" of clearace is required i frot of the frame. The PowerView iterface must remai accessible. The frot of the Symmetra TM must be accessible to istall ad replace power ad battery modules. Notice! The voltage trasformer i the SYMINIF, SYMINIFJ, SYMSTRF ad SYMSTRFJ models emits a electro magetic field (EMF that ca iterfere with the ormal fuctio of a computer moitor. Do ot istall these models i close proximity to a computer moitor. The EMF is ot of sufficiet magitude to cause iterferece with other equipmet. Site Requiremets - Page 1

6 Electrical Requiremets - EPO Switch The Symmetra TM Power Array ca be coected to either a dry cotact or 24Vdc Emergecy Power Off switch. The termial coectios for the EPO switch are physically isolated from the primary circuitry of the Power Array system. EPO Specificatios The EPO circuit is cosidered a Class 2 ad SELV circuit. SELV is a acroym for Safety Extra Low Voltage. SELV is a commo term i Europe ad IEC stadards. A SELV circuit is isolated from primary circuitry through a isolatig trasformer ad desiged so that uder ormal coditios, the voltage is limited to 42.4 Vpeak or 60 Vdc. A Class 2 Circuit is a commo term i North America ad i UL ad CSA stadards. It is defied i the Caadia Electrical Code (C22.1, Sectio 16 ad i the Natioal Electrical Code (NFPA 70, Article 725. SELV ad Class 2 circuits must be isolated from all primary circuitry. Do ot coect ay circuit to the EPO termial block uless it ca be cofirmed that the circuit is SELV or Class 2. If there is a questio, use a cotact closure switch. Use oe of the followig cable types to coect the Symmetra TM to the REPO switch: CL2 - Class 2 cable for geeral purpose use. CL2P - Pleum cable for use i ducts, pleums, ad other space used for evirometal air. CL2R - Riser cable for use i a vertical ru i a shaft or from floor to floor. CL2X - Limited Use cable for use i dwelligs ad for use i raceway. For istallatio i Caada, the cable should be CSA Certified, type ELC (Extra-Low-Voltage Cotrol Cable. Site Requiremets - Page 5

Leave eough space to upack the frame, istall the ramp, ad for two people to roll it oto the floor. The Symmetra TM frame ca be moved over a flat, smooth floor surface by rollig it o the frame casters. The idividually boxed power ad battery modules should be stacked close to the istallatio site. 3 m 3 m Cautio! Do ot istall battery modules ito the Symmetra TM frame util after electrical wirig coectios have bee made, ad the system is ready to be powered. If battery modules are to be stored for a exteded time, store them i a dry, cool eviromet. Battery modules are heavy (32 kg / 70 lb. Two people are required to carry, move ad istall them. 10 Upackig the Symmetra TM Frame 1. Remove packagig materials ad the grill covers. Use care to prevet scratchig the surface of the frame. 2. Locate the pallet ramp that is shipped beeath the top corrogated shippig cover. 3. Follow the steps below to remove the frame from the pallet. After upackig, carefully roll the Symmetra TM to the istallatio site. It is ow ready to be wired. Cautio! Two people are required to remove the frame from the pallet. All four levelig feet at the base of the Symmetra TM frame must be fully retracted before rollig the frame from the pallet. If rollig the frame o the casters over objects such as door thresholds or floor irregularities, be careful to prevet the frame from tippig Receivig ad Upackig - Page 3
