1 Magical Self Defense Workbook Workbook Exercises 1. Direct Flowing Fire 2. Grounding Out Excess Fire Energy 3. Rooting 4. Rooting and Grounding in Crowd Situations 5. Hand Lightning 6. Lightning Rods 7. Fireballs and Fireball Messages 8. Fire Half Shields 9. Voices of Command 1. Direct Flowing Fire Practice direct flowing fire using the three methods given in the textbook: In contact with both source and target. In contact with source but not target. Not in contact with either source or target. You can use either your color chips or a candle as your source (don t put your hand in direct contact with the candle!) and an electrical ground or a candle as your target. Red, orange or yellow candles work well as sources, and white candles work well as targets. Record your results in the form below. Refer back to the notes in the textbook for specific instructions. Magic is a precise science and altered procedures produce altered results. Remember to take your time, think it through and do it right! 3 2. Grounding Out Excess Fire Energy Use the direct flow and shower/bathtub litany methods to practice grounding out excess fire energies. You may need to use these techniques after using some of the self defense techniques given in this course to clear excess fire energies from your body. Record your results in the forms below. Method Used: (Direct Flow or Litany) Condition Before Grounding Out Excess Fire Energy: Condition After Grounding Out Excess Fire Energy: Method Used: (Direct Flow or Litany) Condition Before Grounding Out Excess Fire Energy: Condition After Grounding Out Excess Fire Energy: Copyright Esoteric School of Shamanism and Magic, 2003 All Rights Reserved 3
4 Method Used: (Direct Flow or Litany) Condition Before Grounding Out Excess Fire Energy: Condition After Grounding Out Excess Fire Energy: 3. Rooting Following the instructions in the textbook, practice rooting to balance your own energies. You need to be very familiar with this technique before using it for self defense. Remember to pull up your roots before you move otherwise you might snap your roots. Record your results in the forms below. 6 4. Rooting and Grounding in Crowd Situations Visit a restaurant, shopping mall or any other area where groups of people congregate and are likely to create noise. Use rooting and/or grounding to decrease the energy level of the crowd. Record the amount of time it took to affect the situation, the amount of time the crowd was subdued, and any other questions or difficulties you had with this exercise. 7 5. Hand Lightning If you are presented the opportunity, practice using your hand lightning against someone invading your sacred space (the Universe usually presents us with plenty of opportunities to practice our homework)! You can also practice pulling fire energies from a crowd situation and holding it in your body as a means to quickly boost your own energies. Record your experiences and questions below. 8 Situation in Which Hand Lightning Used: Target Areas Used, General Effect (if on a person): 6. Lightning Rods If you are presented the opportunity, practice using your lightning rods against someone invading your sacred space (you need to practice staying limp and pulling in the attacker s energy, since we usually tense up and resist). If you don t get the chance to practice on someone, go back to throwing bolts at candle flames to stay in practice. A yellow-orange candle makes a great source candle, while a white candle makes a great target candle. You can also practice pulling fire energies from a crowd situation and holding it in your body as a means to quickly boost your own energies. Record your experiences and questions below. Fireballs and Fireball Messages Practice building fireballs using the three methods described in this course. Practice programming and using fireballs in various ways, including lighting a room and sending messages. Record your results in the form below. 11 8. Fire Half Shields 1. Test the effect of fire half shields by watching a segment of a horror or suspense movie (or any other movie that affects you strongly). Watch the segment of the movie without a fire half shield and record the effect in the first form below. 2. Next, rewind the movie to the same segment, put up a fire half shield and watch the same segment. Record the effect in the second form below. Compare the difference between the two experiences. 12 9. Voices of Command Practice the voices of command, especially the stillness voice, alone or with a partner. If you are practicing by yourself you may want to record your practice on a tape recorder and play it back to hear and feel the effect. Once you feel somewhat proficient with the voices you may want to try them out in public. Don t be shy! Most of us have an aversion to practicing these voices or feel shy about hearing our own voices. The only way to become proficient in using these voices is to practice. You have to use this magical technique to make it your own.
