5 IMMa is part of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) IMMa members have all the benefits of a large professional engineering institution: chartered engineering and other qualifications library and information services professional and academic publications technical conferences prestige London headquarters and regional offices network of local branches and societies

6 IMMa s objectives are: To enhance the work of the resources divisions and to be their shop window to the outside world. To promote the professional interests of mineral industry members within the IOM3 and worldwide. To encourage membership of the IOM3 from the international minerals industry community.

8 The IMMAGE database is the world s most important and comprehensive source of technical information for minerals professionals. Started by the IMM nearly 30 years ago, IMMAGE currently contains well over 100,000 abstracts of technical papers from all important journals and conferences, covering the whole minerals field from exploration geology to metals production.

9 IMMAGE has recently been converted from CD delivery to being accessible on-line It is now available as a free member benefit to all IMMa members through the IOM3 website. This facility brings a huge amount of easily searchable technical information directly to members computers, wherever they are in the world.

10 Library Catalogue Other Member Benefits The former IMM library, a world-class collection of technical books and journals that encompasses all aspects of the minerals industries, is now administered by the IOM3 A project is under way to digitize the whole library catalogue. When completed, the catalogue will be made available online as a further free benefit for IMMa members

11 CPD Records Other Member Benefits Software for CPD record keeping is available on-line for IMMa members, through the membership activities of the IOM3.

13 PERC A Code for reporting Mineral Resources and Reserves of solid minerals PERC is a joint committee of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3), the European Federation of Geologists (EFG), the Institute of Geologists of Ireland (IGI), and the Geological Society of London. Its purpose is to manage and update the IMM Reporting Code (2001), itself a successor to the 1991 Reporting Code. Exposure draft launched today for consultation. Final version of PERC 2008 Reporting Code due in December.

14 How to join IMMa New members have first to join IOM3, either as professional members (AMIMMM, MIMMM, FIMMM), or as affiliate members, if not technically qualified.
