2 Respectable Mr. President, my counterparts, ladies and gentlemen, Good afternoon! On behalf of the minister Xu Shaoshi, we express our sincere thanks for the invitation from the first deputy minister of Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

3 Central Asian countries are friendly neighbors of China, and we share mountains and rivers. Several ore-forming belts span over these countries. Such as the Altay ore-forming belts, the Bashkir-Jungar ore-forming belts, the middle Asian Tianshan ore-forming belts, the Karakum-Tarim ore-forming belts and the Tethyan ore-forming belts. 4 Recently years, we carried out geological mapping and study on metallogenetic theories and effective ore exploring techniques in these oreforming belts in Xinjiang. The following achievements have obtained. We finished 1: Aeromagnetic survey for an area about km 2 in three years, covering one third of the cold areas of Xinjiang. It promotes the iron prospecting in the cold areas of Xinjiang and large-scale iron belts were located, i.e. the Awulale belt in the western Tiansha Mt. and the Taxkorgan belt in the western Kunlun Mt. 362 sites have been discovered newly for iron, copper, zinc, lead, gold etc., and 2688 geochemical anomalous regions were located that lay a solid basis for further investigation.

7 Based on recent studies, we believe there are great prospecting potential in these ore-forming belts. Therefore, we should carry out joint prospecting and potential assessment in these belts. In the past years, China have signed MOU in geology with Kazakstan, Tajikistan, etc. Conducted joint study on metallogeny and mapping with central Asian counties. We carried out database development and information extraction for ore exploration using existing geochemical data with Kyrgyzstan and some new potential areas for ore prospecting have been delineated. We carried out geochemical mapping in the pamir area with Tajikistan and some preliminary results have been obtained.

8 Geology has no border. To promote the economic prosperity of central Asian, we suggest to enhance communication and cooperation among central Asian countries and to utilize resources reasonably. We can carry out cooperation in many fields. Such as major geological issues, mineral resources assessment for dominant mineral resources in key ore-forming belts, methods and techniques of geological investigation, database development, comprehensive utilization of mineral resources and geological professional resources exchange and joint education. We believe these cooperation will enhance the friendship, deepen geological study and bring prosperity to central Asian counties.

9 To enhance talent training and exchange, Chinese government plans to hold two training program. Geochemical mapping and environmental geochemical investigation for Asian countries from 14 August to 12 September Geological survey and mineral resources assessment (given in Russian) from 24 October to 22 November 2012.

10 I work in Xi an Center of Geological Survey of China Geological Survey (Xi an Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources of the Ministry of Land and Resources, P.R. China). It is responsible for the planning and organization of geological and mineral resources survey in northwest China, and international cooperation in geology and mineral resources with central Asian countries on behalf of China Geological Survey.
