This is especially true fr the pastrs and priests f the Parishes. It is imprtant fr servants t understand changes and imprtant plans in their Dicese s that they can fulfill their ministry t peple. Smetimes changes and plans are cnfusing. The main reasn fr this article is t explain the changes happening in the TIST prgram in this Dicese. First let us review the histry f TIST. What was TIST Originally? TIST is the name f the prgram started by Mpwapwa Dicese in 1999 in rder t serve the small grups. This effrt t strengthen the small grups spiritually and ecnmically started in 1998, by imprving Njia Bra and the strength and survival f the grups. A seminar in the middle f 1998, which included representatives frm each Parish, included the exercise f putting dwn visins fr the Dicese. One idea was this: The church in Mpwapwa Dicese shuld grw spiritually by means f small grups which are nw spread all ver the Dicese, and als peple shuld, thrugh self -reliance, reduce famine and pverty and imprve educatin. What was liquidated? TIST, the legal business crpratin, is being liquidated. This des nt mean that everything related t TIST is nw finished. Sme peple may have been cnfused by the wrd liquidatr, in Swahili mufilisi, and thught that the liquidatr wuld wrap up everything t d with TIST. What changed here is nly the name and kind f rganizatin that will take part f running the activities: frm TIST t JITUME. Cntinued n Page 2 TIST BADO INAENDELEA NA SHUGHULI ZAKE Mabadilik ya kutka TIST kwenda JITUME Askfu Simn Chiwanga Utangulizi Mlinzi mkubwa wa Imani, Maadili na Misingi ya Kanisa katika Daysisi ni Muhudumu, na hasa Kasisi wa Parishi. Ni wajibu wa Wahudumu kuelewa mabadilik na mipang muhimu katika Daysisi ili watimize ungzi wa bra wa kunyesha njia. Vinginevy, ufafanuzi wa mabadilik muhimu unaweza kuangukia vinywani mwa Walimu-Jini, amba mara nyingi ama ni wagumu wa kuelewa au ni wachafuzi tu kwa maslahi ya wenyewe. Mkaz maalum wa kuimarisha Vikundi Vidg Vidg kwa madhumuni ya kukua kirh na kiuchumi ulianza rasmi mwaka 1998, kwa kungezea njia bra za kuimarisha uhai wa Vikundi. Katikati ya mwaka 1999, wakati wa Semina iliyhudhuriwa na wawakilishi kutka kila Parishi, zezi la kuweka mafunu ya Daysisi lilifanywa. Mafunu yalikuwa: Kanisa katika Daysisi ya Mpwapwa linalkua kirh kwa njia ya Vikundi Vidg vilivyenea kila Parishi, na watu walijikmba katika umasikini, ujinga na maradhi. Ni nini hasa kilich vunjwa? Sheria ya kuifanya TIST kuwa Kampuni ya Biashara ndiy inayvunjwa. Wala haina maana kwamba TIST imevunjwa kwa sababu imefilisika, kama wachache walivysikika wakitafsiri nen Mufilisi, lenye maana ya Mfungaji wa Kampuni na siy Mnynyaji. Kinachbadilika ni jina na aina ya chmb cha kuuhudumia Mpang hu, kutka TIST na kuwa JITUME au TIST. Mabadilik ya aina hii ni ya kawaida kabisa ulimwenguni kwa chmb kinachkua kwa kuzingatia mazingira ya mahali kilip. Nimefurahishwa kuna kwamba siy wengi walibabaika walipna au kusikia katika magazeti tangaz la uvunjaji wa Kampuni. Inaendelea ukurasa wa 2 Habari Mt Mt 1

I am very glad that nt many peple get cnfused after they read r hear abut cmpany liquidatins in the newspapers. The small grup prgram, which aims t help them ecnmically and spiritually, has nt been liquidated. This is the mst imprtant part f the ministry f the Church. Our friends Clean Air Actin Crpratin (led by Ben and Vanessa), Dw Chemical, with ther new friends, are still jining us in JITUME. They are feeling very strngly called by Gd. They are helping very much in the liquidatin f TIST and ensuring JITUME starts strngly and in a gd psitin. Our friends are cntinuing t lk fr new surces f mney. They are very encuraged when they see the Dicese is articulating their visins and gals. This is the main gal f ur friends: that the Dicese be self-reliant. Has JITUME started wrk r nt? JITUME started wrking sn after receiving the authrity frm the meeting f Dicesan Cuncil held n 3-4 December, The first general m eeting f JITUME was held n 5 December, The JITUME Bard f Trustees als met n 5 January 2001, t learn mre frm the experience f TIST and make mre plans f hw t wrk with ur friends utside the cuntry in rder t serve the grups. The first wrk fr JITUME in the Parishes will be t register and mnitr the grups which have qualified t receive the payments f 4/= per tree / seedling fur times a year. The lan repayment prcedure nw is under the supervisin f the Bishp and all the Deans. Only the Deans will receive the lan repayment frm grups, by fllwing the prcedures. The Deans will make sure that all the lans are repaid back befre August All the Ministers in the Dicese need t pass the infrmatin t grups that they need t repay their lans back befre the fllw up starts. This is a very imprtant chance fr them t shw their supprt and humanity. A smart persn nly falls dwn r makes a mistake nce; if he/she des it twice then he/she is nt being smart, but nly prud and selfish. Grwing Seedlings Preparing a sil mix fr seedlings The required mixed sil fr the grwth f seedlings in a seedbeds and seedling bags cntains: Mpang wa Vikundi Vidg Vidg wa kujikmba kiuchumi na kujikuza kirh, hauvunjwi. Ni sehemu ya lazima ya Utume wa Kanisa. Marafiki zetu vile Clean Air Actin Crpratin, Dw Chemical (wakingzwa na Ben na Vannesa), pamja na Marafiki wengine wapya, wanaendelea kushirikiana nasi kupitia JITUME, kwa nia mja na kwa my mkuu wa kusikia wit wa Mungu hasa, wala siy wa kubabaika. Wanata msaada na ushirikian mkubwa katika kutimiza taratibu zte za kisheria za kuivunja Kampuni ya TIST, na kuliwezesha Shirika la JITUME lianze kwa nguvu na kwa utaratibu mzuri. Juhudi ya ya kutafuta Mitaji zaidi inangezeka siku hadi siku. Inawafurahisha sana kuna Daysisi inaweka wazi kabisa mafunu, wit na maleng yake. Hil ndil leng kuu la Marafiki zetu: Kujitegemea kwa Daysisi. Shirika la JITUME limekwisha kuanza au bad? Shirika la JITUME lilianza kazi yake mara tu baada ya kukabidhiwa wajibu wake na Halmashauri ya Days isi katika Kika chake cha tarehe 3-4 Desemba, Mkutan Mkuu wa Kwanza ulifanyika tarehe 5 Desemba, Bdi ya Wadhamini ilikutana tarehe 5 Januari, 2001, zaidi kujielimisha juu ya uzefu wa awamu ya TIST na kuweka taratibu za kushirikiana na Mar afiki wa nje katika kuhudumia Vikundi. Kazi ya kwanza ya Shirika la JITUME katika Maparishi itakuwa kuvisajili na kusimamia malip kwa Vikundi vyte vilivyukubali bei ya wanunuzi wa hewa-taka ya Sh. 4/= kwa mti, mara nne kwa mwaka. Usimamizi wa kurejesha mikp hii sasa um chini ya Askfu na Makasisi Vingzi. Ni Makasisi Vingzi tu watakapkea Malip ya Mikp hii kutka kwa Vikundi, kwa Utaratibu watakauweka. Tutahakikisha kwamba mikp yte halali inarejeshwa kabla ya mwish wa Agsti Wahudumu wavihimize Vikundi vyte vinavyhusika kurejesha mikp ya mapema kwa hiari ya, badala ya kungjea kashi -kashi za kufuatiliwa. Hii ni nafasi yetu kubwa ya kunyesha uungwana wetu. Muungwana huteleza mara mja tu, akirudia tena hanyeshi uungwana bali dharau na ubinafsi. If that is nt available, the cmmn sil f the upper surface f the earth in the bushes is fine t use. All three things needed be filtered first in rder t remve any sand, stnes and rubbish at the same time. Then they shuld be mixed in the rati f 1:2:4 by vlume. If the mixture is dried, then the little water may be applied and stirred effectively. Yu can either plant yur seedlings directly int bags r first in a seedling bed and then int bags. When yu are preparing bags, it is better fr the mixture t be light but mixed well s that will nt fall dwn during lifting the bags, used cntainers, nyln bags and banana s leaf r mianzi (a lcal bag) may be used t make seedling bags. These shuld have a diameter f 6 cm (r be 10 cm by 4 cm wide) and have a depth f 14cm. The material may be black r white. The bags need t be filled with the sil mix abve. If the bags are filled at nce then there will be pre spaces i n side. Hw t transplant seedlings int bags If yu planted seedlings first in a seedling bed, when the seedlings are still yung and they are just prducing their first leaves remve them frm the nursery bed and put in the bags as it is explained here: make a small hle in the bags which is lnger than the length f rts f the seedlings. Use the thin stick t make that hle in rder t prevent the rts mving upwards. The hles als need t be wide enugh, therwise the rts may bend upward when yu put the seedling in the hle. The seedlings need t be held by the tp leaves and nt by its stem. It is pssible t reduce the rts t nly 4 cm lng. Each seedling needs t be transplanted mre deeply than the nrmal way it grew when it was in the seed bed. When the seedling is in the hle fill in the hle arund the rts. The bags need t be placed vertically in a prepared shed frame. (Yu can als use bricks r stnes t build the a wall t prtect the seedlings frm the sun and t stp them falling ver. Sme times seeds are planted directly in the bags. Seeds that are suitable fr this methd are thse which are big and can germinate easily (mre than 80%). Like bridelia micrantha (mkarati), Crtn megalcarpus (msenefu), Tamarindus Indica (Mkwaju), Trichilia emetica (mafura), Khaya anththeca (mkangazi), Azadirachata indica (muarbaini), etc. One r tw seeds are put at the middle f the bags filled with sil and cvered by the sil in the bag t a depth f 1cm. Unapandaa viriba, mchanganyik yafaa uwe mwepesi lakini ushikamane kwa kiasi tu ili usichmke wakati wa kuinua viriba. makp, mifuk ya nailni, majani ya mgmba au mianzi (viriba vya kienyeji) vinaweza kutumika kutengeneza viriba kwa ajili ya miche. Viriba hivi vinatakiwa kuwa na kipeny cha sm 6 (au viwe na upana wa wa sm 10 kwa sm 4 ) na kuwa na kim cha sm 14. Viriba vinawezaa kutengenezwa na manailni ( Malighafi ) ya rangi ya nyeupe au nyeusi. Viriba vinatakiwa vijazwe na udng ushindiliwe katika kila hatua. Viriba vikijazwa kwa mara mja nafasi ya hewa inatkea ndani. Kupandikiza miche kwenye viriba Inatka ukurasa wa 2 Kama tulipandikiza miche kwenye jaruba kwanza, wakati miche michanga imeanza kuta majani ya kwanza, ing lewe kwenye kitalu ipandikizwe kwenye viriba kama ifuatavy: kishim kirefu zaidi kulik mizizi ya miche kichimbwe kwa kijiti ili mizizi isije ikapandisha juu. Pia kishim kiwe na upana wa kutsha, vinginevy mizizi ya pembeni itashika ukingni na kupinda juu wakati mche ukiingizwa. Wakati wa kupandikiza, miche ishikwe tu kwenye ghala zake za chakula (ctyledns) na si kwenye shina. Mizizi michanga inaweza kukatwa kama ikibidi ibakie sm 4 za urefu. Kila mche upandikizwe katika kila kiriba kwa kina kirefu kidg kuzidi ilivykuwa kwenye kitalu na udng ushindiliwe vyema kandkand ya mizizi.viriba visimamishwe wima ndani ya fremu (kuta za matfali au mawe pia zafaa) ziliztengenezwa kama zile za kitalu ili kuzuia visianguke au kuchmwa na jua kwenye upande wa ubavuni. Wakati mwingine mbegu hupandwa mja kwa mja katika viriba. Mbegu zinazfaa kwa njia hii ni zile ambaz ni kubwa na utaji wake ni mkubwa (zaidi ya 80%). Kwa mfan bridelia micrantha(mkarati), Crtn megalcarpus (msenefu), Tamarindus indica (mkwaju), Trichilia emetica (mafura), Khaya anththeca (mkangazi), Azadirachata indica (muarbaini ), n.k. This s that they have sme light, but are nt scrtched by the sun. They shuld be watered every mrning and evening. As the time f transplanting appraches the shade must be remved very slwly either by reducing the grass ver the frame r remving the frame everyday fr lnger perids until until the seedlings are able t cpe with direct sunlight. The seedlings shuld als be watered less t prepare them fr transplantatin. The seedling bags shuld remved ften t remve the rts that will grw under the sil surface t deeply. The rts can be cut using sharp knife. The bags can be weeded by using a sharp stick r by hand. Insect damage can be prevented by applying pesticides called Didmac (1% malathi) r Basudin 600C. The nrmal size f the seedlings ready t plant is abut cm. Seedlings take 4 t 10 mnths t reach this size depending n the species. Seed Cllectin The cllectin f seeds can be dne thrughut the year, depending n the availability f the seeds and methds fr keeping thse seeds. This means that there are sme types f the seeds that can be btained at certain perids f the year and thers need special utensils / cntainers t stre them, depending n hw well they keep. There are difference means / methds f used t cllect seeds fr trees. Sme f thse methds are as fllws: T cllect thse seeds that have fallen dwn / drpped dwn frm the trees. T stand n smething that will supprt yur weight t pick the seeds when they are n the trees. T climbed n the trees and pick the seeds. T use a special tls t cllect the seeds. Which seeds are cllected will determine what is grwn in the nursery. The seedlings and trees yu grw will have different uses: Trees can be used fr firewd, timber, as windbreakers, t prevent sil ersin, imprve sil fertility, fr medicine and decratin. Upunguzaji wa kunyweshea, dhidi ya mahitaji ya miche vitumike ili kukmaza Miche, tayali kwa kupanda shambani. Viriba visgezwe mara kwa mara ili mizizi inayjitkeza chini ikatike. Njia nyingine ni kuinua viriba na kukata mizizi inayjitkeza chini kwa kutumia kisu kikali. Viriba vinaweza kupaliliwa kwa kutumia kijiti chenye ncha kali au kutumia mkn. Wadudu wahalibifu wanaweza kuzuiliwa kwa kunyunyiziwa dawa ya Didmac ( 1% malathi) au Basudin 600C. kim cha kawaida cha miche inayfaa kwa kupanda shambani ni kiasi cha sentimita Miche hiy huchukua miezi minne hadi kumi kuikuza hadi siku ya kuipandikiza, kutegemeana na miti inayhusika. Kukusanya mbegu za miti Ukusanyaji wa mbegu unaweza ukafanyika kipindi chte cha mwaka kwa kutegemea upatikanaji wa mbegu na vifaa vya kuhifadhia mbegu. Hii ikiwa na maana kuwa kuna baadhi ya mbegu zinazpatikana kwa kipindi fulani cha mwaka na baadhi ya mbegu zinazhitaji vifaa maalumu vya kuhifadhia kutkana na uwezekan wake wa kuharibika/kufa mapema. Kuna njia mbalimbali zitumikaz kukusanya mbegu za miti.baadhi ya njia hiz ni kama ifuatavy: Kukusanya mbegu zilizanguka chini ya mti. Kusimama juu ya kitu na kuchuma mbegu juu ya mti. Miche na miti inaztesha zitakuwa na matumizi tfauti tfauti. Miti inaweza kutumika kwa kuni, mba, kama makinga upep, kuzuia mmmnyk wa udng, kurutubisha udng, kwa dawa na mapamb. Mingni mwa miti hiy ni : Mikaratusi Mmelea Miarbaini Mijhr Mikrismas Milusina Mikmbekmbe (Parkinsnia sp). Miti huta vivuli, hii ni pamja na: Mikmbekmbe Mikrismasi Mijhl Miarbaaini Mimelea Vikundi vidg vidg Vikundi vidg vidg vya Kikrist ni jumuiya au umja wa watu 6 hadi 10 na si zaidi ya watu kumi na mbili amba wap tayari kukutana kwa madhumuni maalum. Madhumuni ya vikundi vidg vidg Ni kuwa mahali pa kupendwa na kufarijiwa. Kuwa mahali pa kujisikia nyumbani na kupkelewa. Mahali pa kuaminiana. Mahali watu watakapweza kumwna Mungu ndani ya mwili wa krist. Mahali watu wanapendeleza na kunyesha vipawa walivypewa na Mungu.. Kutumia vipawa hivy kuujenga mwili wa Krist. Mahali ambap mnapaswa kusaidiana. Mahali pa kupumua. Mahali mtu anapkuwa kirh. Mahali ambap kikundi kinaweza kutambua/kuyana mapenzi ya Mungu. Shuld always lk fr ways t serve the grup A persn wh discvers new things every day Wh understands his grup members. Wh is keen t learn new things Hly Spirit Hly Sprit is the truth teacher in the grup. The leaders are like instruments that are used by him. (Matthew 18:3.) The wrd f Gd says that, if tw r three peple cme tgether I am with them. Therefre the grup members they are suppsed t depend n Hly Spirit. Rtating leadership...there shuld be a leader and a c -leader fr every meeting....the leader and c-leader shuld rtate at each meeting s the whle grup can benefit by the Gdgiven gifts f each persn. (1Cr 12:4-7) C-leader...helps the leader...keeps time fr the schedule f the meeting s the leader can cncentrate n the grup...prays silently fr grup members and Gd's will fr the grup during the meeting katika upend.. Sm hili linahusu nini? Au kifungu kinasema nini?. Lilikuwa na maana gani wakati hu?. Lina maana kwetu sisi kwa maisha ya sasa. Sifa za Mwezeshaji ( Mark 10:42). Anapaswa kuwapenda wenzake. It is a gd idea t write it n paper and have all the grup members sign it. Using Pairs and Quads Yu can divide int pairs, and this is very imprtant fr the grup members when they are intrduced. If grup members are becming tired, pairs are a gd way t build energy again. Bth peple in the pair can share very quickly abut smething, r answer a quick questin. This takes abut 5 minutes. Kikundi chte pia hujifunza kwamba mamb kinafikiri ni muhimu kwa mwezeshaji. Mwezeshaji atakayefuata atanufaika kutkana na kutkana na jinsi walivymjenga muwezeshaji wa kika kilichpita. Is ur hpe that this exercise f frming the grups will nt end in Mrgr and Mpwapwa, but it cntinue due t the prject achievements in places where it already exists.
