2 CRUDE OIL AND GAS PRODUCTION Total Crude Oil and Condensates produced during the period was million barrels, averaging 2.13 million barrels per day (mbd). This shows a decrease of 7.83 million barrels or 3.84% over third quarter 2007, production figure of million barrels. In the gas sector, a total of Billion Standard Cubic Feet (BSCF) of Natural Gas (associated) was produced during the quarter. CRUDE OIL LIFTING A total of million barrels of crude oil and condensates was lifted for both export and domestic purposes. The lifting from JV amounted to million barrels,, PSC/SC was million barrels, while the remaining lifting 3.02 million barrels was lifted by independent companies. CRUDE OIL EXPORT BY DESTINION In the Fourth quarter 2007, a total volume of 206,339,431 barrels of Crude Oil and Oso Condensate was exported by NNPC and the Oil Producing Companies to five (5) major regions of the World: North America, 110,472,278 barrels or 53.54%; Europe, 36,813,311 barrels or 17.84%; Asia and Far East 22,049,298 barrels or 10.69%; South America, 22,829,907 barrels or 11.06%. The remaining 14,174,637 barrels or 6.87% were exported to countries in Africa REFINERY OPERIONS Crude Oil Balance: In the Fourth Quarter 2007, the three refineries (KRPC, PHRC and WRPC) had 263,488 mt (1,922,893 bbls) of dry crude oil as opening stock and received 542,970 mt (3,960,475 bbls) of dry crude oil. The total crude oil available for processing, therefore, stood at 806,458 mt (5,883,368 bbls). Out of this, 593,969 mt (4,337,238 bbls) of crude oil was processed into different petroleum products. The closing stock at the end of the Quarter was 212,489 mt (1,546,130 bbls) of crude oil. The average daily throughput for each refinery in metric tons per day was: KRPC 0; PHRC 6,456 and WRPC 0.00; thus leaving their respective capacity utilization for the Quarter as 0%, 22.45% and 0.00% respectively. Production Returns: The three (3) refineries KRPC, PHRC and WRPC produced 675,453 mt of intermediate and finished products and 968,485 mt was evacuated by PPMC during the quarter. The major petroleum products evacuated include PMS = 292,319 mt, DPK = 77,638 mt, AGO = 156,725 mt, Fuel Oil = 254,409 mt. DOMESTIC P PRODUCTS DISTRIBUTION: The Major and Independent Petroleum Products Marketing Companies distributed a total of 2, million litres of different petroleum products in the 36 States and FCT (Tables 12 and 13). This shows a decrease of million litres or 2.33% when compared with the total volume distributed in the Third Quarter, 2007 (3, million litres). The Major Petroleum Products Marketing Companies sold 2, million litres (70.64% of the total sales) of petroleum products, while the Independent Petroleum Products Marketing Companies sold the remaining million litres (29.36%). Note: PANOCEAN and NPDC gas production & utilization were not available at the time of this report. On the petroleum products distribution slate, Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) had the highest figure of 2, million litres (78.38% of the total) reflecting average daily sales of million litres. This was followed by Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) with total sales figure of million litres (11.59%) averaging 3.71 million litres per day. Dual Purpose Kerosine (DPK) came third in the petroleum products distribution slate with total sales figure of million litres 4.53%) giving an average daily sales figure of 1.45 million litres. The distribution by the Major Marketers shows Oando Plc carrying 17.71%,Total Plc 15.61%, African Petroleum 11.26%, Texaco 9.38%, Conoil 7.87%, Mobil 4.97%, and NNPC Retail 3.84%. viii CORPORION
