MALLA REDDY: (a) (b) (c) (d) (e) Will the Minister of COMMERCEAND INDUSTRY be pleased to state: व ण ज य एव उद य ग म त र the details of the sectors presently covered under Foreign Direct Investment () in India along with maximum permissible limit of investment in each of these sectors; the details of total inflow of in the country during each of the last five years and the current year, country, sector and State/UT-wise; the details of the sectors where investment has been made along with the names of the countries which have made a maximum investment in India, sector and country-wise; whether the Government proposes to provide fresh opportunities for and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and the corrective steps taken/ proposed to be taken by the Government to promote and to remove imbalance in in various parts of the country? CHAUDHARY) (a): Detailed Foreign Direct Investment () policy on various sectors indicating therein sector-wise limits is provided in Consolidated Policy Circular of 2017, as amended from time to time and through subsequent Press Notes, which are available at the website of Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion at (b): The country, sector and State/ UT-wise classification of the total inflow is not maintained. However, country, sector & region-wise (one RBI regional

2 office may have one or more states) details of equity inflow received during each of the last five years are at Annexure I, II & III respectively. (c): (d) & (e): The list of top 10 sectors in which & top 10 countries from where maximum investment is reported through equity inflow in India during the period April, 2000 to March, 2018 are at Annexure IV. policy is an enabling policy which is applicable throughout the country. Government has put in place a liberal and transparent policy for, wherein most of the sectors are open to under the automatic route. The Government reviews the policy on an ongoing basis and makes changes from time to time, to ensure that India remains attractive & investor friendly destination. Further, is largely a matter of private business decisions and inflows depend on a host of factors such as availability of natural resources, market size, infrastructure, and general investment climate as well as macro-economic stability and investment decision of foreign investors. Moreover, Government has undertaken a number of steps to improve Ease of Doing Business across India. *****
