The POLYFROTH frother series aims to deliver the full spectrum of frother properties (e.g. selectivity, water solubility, diffusion kinetics) and strengths required in mineral and coal flotation applications by combining earlier experience with TERIC and UNIFROTH frother new technologies as well as innovative new product development. n POLYFROTH W34 FROTHER This unique range of frothing properties and selectivity provides application and performance benefits in a wide range of flotation situations. As a group, they offer high metallurgical grades with low water carry-over into the concentrate. n POLYFROTH W55 FROTHER

4 The POLYFROTH frothers are typically easily dispersible in water and have low volatility that gives very good froth persistence. They have a low level of toxicity and odor, and most are non-flammable. The greater froth persistence, together with higher water solubility of selected frothers in the POLYFROTH frother product series, can offer the option of a simpler single point addition. Client experience has shown dose rates that are typically less than those for alcohol- and glycol ether-based frother blends. POLYFROTH FROTHER SERIES PRODUCT RANGE POLYFROTH 20 s frother series Low to Moderate Strength n POLYFROTH H23 frother is among the weakest of the current POLYFROTH range, making it one of the most selective of our frothers in the series. POLYFROTH frother H23 is designed to achieve comparable frother performance to MIBC and other low molecular weight alcohol-based frothers. n POLYFROTH W22C frother is a lower strength, highly selective frother, comparable to methyl isobutyl carbinol (MIBC) and other low molecular weight alcohol-based frothers. W22C has been specifically designed as a high flash point alternative to MIBC and is available for use at a reduced dose rate than that typical of MIBC. n POLYFROTH H27C frother is an intermediate strength frother that extends the properties of W22C but also offers a stronger hydrophobic glycol ether component, boosting the flotation froth kinetics and giving higher froth concentrate carry-over (mass pull). POLYFROTH 30 s frother series Intermediate Strength n POLYFROTH W31 frother is a polyglycol ether frother that is an established industry alternative to the Dowfroth 250C flotation frother. It produces relatively mobile and freely draining froths of intermediate strength. It offers a combination of selectivity, froth stability and moderate kinetics, and is therefore generally used in for a wide range of flotation applications where a balance of selectivity and strength is required. W31 can also be viewed as an alternative frother to other mid-strength, intermediate molecular weight, glycol ether/propylene glycolbased frothers. n POLYFROTH W34 frother is an intermediate to high-strength frother with solution characteristics similar to those of W31. It produces froths of well-defined structure and bubble size and is available for applications requiring intermediate froth stability and good froth depth control. POLYFROTH 50 s frother series Highest Strength n POLYFROTH H57 frother is among the strongest, most hydrophobic in the series and produces drier froths. It is available for operations where strong froths are required to assist the flotation of coarse particles. It offers fast initial kinetics and can be used to help overcome frothing resistance. n POLYFROTH W55 frother is also a strong frother, offering good froth persistence and stability, but less selective in its use. W55 usually results in reduced dosage and better froth depth control than other alternative strong alcohol/polyglycol ether blends. These frothers are often used alone, where their strength (due in part to their higher molecular weight) imparts superior qualities for coarse particle recovery in flotation circuits. They can be combined with other products to augment froth characteristics for desired properties and performance.

This renders them hydrophilic, thereby preventing their flotation. Huntsman Performance Products manufactures non-ionic, anionic and cationic polymers for the depression of gangue. Cationic polymers are preferred for depression of iron sulfides, particularly when referring to their occurrence in base metal sulfide recovery circuits. DISPERSANTS Dispersants are surface charge modifiers that prevent aggregation of fine gangue particles in complex flotation systems. They selectively target the gangue services, thereby rendering them hydrophilic and hindering their tendency to attract to bubbles. Huntsman Performance Products offers low and intermediate molecular weight reagents with varying charge and functionality. These are often inorganic and organic polymers, specifically designed to maintain low viscosity, disperse slimes, treat talcbearing ores and disperse clays and silicates.
