1 Data Pack D Issued November 2005 Data Sheet Solenoid valve chemical compatibility chart This range of 2- and 3-way solenoid valves specifically designed for use with a broad range of aggressive gases and fluids. The valve bodies are made from stainless steel, PVC and polypropylene, with internal parts of stainless steel and EPDM (ethylene propylene rubber) seals. The chemical compatibility chart given here shows resistance to chemicals, commercial products and liquid food products to three levels: 1. Resistant. 2. Conditionally resistant. 3. Unsuitable. The information contained in this data sheet should be considered as a guide only and is not necessarily valid for all operating conditions. Increased temperatures, fluid concentration, ultra-pure fluids and inadvertent ingress of water can all lead to accelerated corrosion. Further, the information assumes that there are no mechanical factors which might have a bearing on suitability. In cases of doubt, prior testing of samples under actual operating conditions is recommended. This guide assumes temperatures of + 20 C. At higher temperatures a poorer resistance can generally be assumed. Key: + Resistant or insignificant degradation Conditionally resistant, slight to moderate attack can occur Not resistant, significant attack unsuitable.
